I Wish I Had a Little Red Box (Tune: "Polly Wolly Doodle")

I wish I had a little red box To put my mommy in.

I'd take her out and go, Kiss, kiss, kiss, (Kiss in air.)

And put her back again.

I wish I had a little red box To put my daddy in.

I'd take him out and go, Hug, hug, hug, (Hug self.)

And put him back again.

I wish I had a little red box To put my good friends in. I'd take them out and go,

”How do you do?”, (Shake hands.) And put them back again.

KINDERGARTEN MY FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL

Date: ____________________________ To: My family and friends at home:

Today was my first day of school. We talked about how we felt before coming to school and drew faces to show how we felt. Then we looked at the faces taped on a picture graph to tell if more boys and girls were happy, mad, scared or sad.

We read a book called The Kissing Hand. It was about a raccoon who was going to school for the first time. He was scared but his mommy gave him a kiss inside his hand. Whenever he felt scared, he held up his hand to his face and pretended that his mommy was kissing him on the cheek.

We learned a new song that gives kisses, hugs, and handshakes and I made kisses, a hug, and a handshake for you. I learned which hand are my right and left.

Help me practice my left and right hand and counting. Tomorrow remember to put a kiss in my hand so I won’t miss you so much.
