Happy Half Term! This week is half term and for that reason there will be no
set home learning until Monday 1st June.
Instead of home learning we have included some activities,
including summer safety learning for you to use. These are not compulsory but just ideas for you.
We hope that you enjoy the half term as a family. Play games together, read together, eat lunch together and
enjoy your exercise outside safely.
We’d still love to see photos of what you have been up to so keep emailing them in.
Purple Mash Purple Mash has a range of activities for you to do. Use the search bar to have a look or see what your teacher has set
you as a 2do.
Outdoors Scavenger Hunt See how many different items you can find! You can even
come up with your own items to find.
Homemade Ice Lollies You could use fruit, juice, milk or water. Simply freeze in
either moulds (or you could even use plastic cups). Then enjoy!
Animal Pizza Making
Enjoy a delicious dinner by making your own pizzas by using wraps, tomato puree, cheese and toppings of your choice!
Movie Marathon Choose a movie series such as Toy Story or a theme like
Disney. Turn the idea into an event by creating invitations for everyone attending. Give every family member
something fun to do – a popcorn seller, a 'projectionist' who can man the remote, a salesman who sells the tickets.
Lockdown Memory Book Photography is an excellent form of art! Use a camera and take lots of photos to remember this very strange time for us all. With your photos, create your own lockdown memory
book! You could even stick items into this book such as leaves/sticks from walks you have been on, pebbles from
the beach, etc.
Exercise
Circuits - Draw pictures of different exercises (such as star jumps, hopping, squats) Put the pictures around the room or garden and get everyone in your family to visit each picture and do the exercise on the picture.
Dance Routine - Choose your favourite song and then think of a fun dance routine to the song. Can you teach the grown-ups in your house the routine?
Grow Your Own Rainbow Get some kitchen towel and felt tip pens. Cut the kitchen towel into a rainbow shape and then colour the bottom of the rainbow with rainbow colours. Put a paper clip on top of the rainbow and dip the ends in two cups of water. Watch your rainbow grow!
Lego Challenge
Build a new Lego model every day of the holiday!
Day 1- Captain Hook needs a new pirate ship. He wants you to build him one.
Day 2- Design and build your dream bedroom.
Day 3- You and your friends are trapped on a desert island. Build a boat to get you and your friends home.
Day 4- Build a bridge to connect a town and a city.
Day 5- Make a new rollercoaster or ride for Paultons Park.
Which was your favourite challenge?
Make a Bird Feeder
Making this bird feeder is lots of messy fun!
1. Smother a cardboard tube in peanut butter (no added salt and sugar versions are suitable for birds).
2. Roll it in bird seed and thread some string through the hole. You may want to put some sticks at the bottom for the birds to perch on.
3. Tie it up in your garden where birds will feel safe eating.
How many garden birds will you spot?
