Thankfully we have only had a few days of temperatures over 80 degrees. I am doubtful that I will be able to say this after the next month or two so I want to tip our hat now to the ECC and consulted facilities Physical Plant staff. These individuals work tirelessly during these months to keep our residents and employees in comfortable temperatures. And we thank and appreciate all they do. During these hot months we all can help keep our residents more comfortable. We should all be encouraging residents to drink more fluids- especially water, wearing lighter weight, loose fitting clothing, serving cold, lighter meals, and reducing more strenuous activities. The negative effects of hotter temperatures on aging and sick individuals all appear faster and more severe, so let’s all do everything we can to make sure our residents are comfortable during this summer season. Tri-State helped Receptionist Bernice Mims celebrate her 40th year of employment with Extended Care. Bernice’s first day of work was May 27th, 1977. She started in housekeeping at an hourly rate of $2.45 per hour and eventually worked her way to receptionist. Bernice has worked in six different ECC buildings throughout her tenure. Tri-State is incredibly thankful to have Bernice and we thank her from the bottom of our hearts for her continued commitment to this company.

We would like to thank the environmental service and plan operations departments at Springmill Health Campus! They share the sense of urgency when it comes to our customer service! They go the extra mile to get the job done even if it means staying late, floating to other units and going above and beyond. Your efforts truly show when we give tours and our best compliments are revolved around how clean we are. Your efforts do not go unnoticed. A pizza party was just a small token of how much we appreciate each and everyone of you!

One of Lincolnshire’s many fun activities during CNA Week was Volleyball. Our CNA’s volleyball skills and teamwork were put to the test!

Lincolnshire kicked off Nursing Home Week with Chili Hot Dogs. Thank you to our Activity Department for serving these treats!

Pictured is the winning team of the Lincolnshire Banana Split Race. Residents and employees had the pleasure of watching, cheering on, and eating both teams’ creations.

The Fabulous Foursome! Munster Med-Inn and their Fabulous Foursome took 3rd place overall at the Methodist Hospital’s Foundation Golf Outing on June 19th at Innsbrook Country Club. The Methodist Hospital Foundation is a non-for-profit organization that invests in the Northwest Indiana community by supporting Methodist Hospitals services and programs. This year the proceeds from the event went to Methodist’s Heart & Vascular Institute. Munster Med-Inn’s Administrator Frank Bensema, AIT Jeff Mussman, Dr. Omar Perez (Orthopedic Surgeon), and Dr. Ashish Patel (Orthopedic Surgeon) made a fantastic team and represented ECC! Our Medical Director at Lincolnshire Dr. Alzeidan also participated, golfing with Methodist Hospital’s CEO, Raymond Grady. Munster Med-Inn along with sister facilities Spring Mill and Lincolnshire sponsored the Golf Outing this year and did a fabulous job showcasing our facilities at various holes with their unique booths!

Great Job on bringing home 3rd place Munster Med-Inn, way to represent ECC!
