The Art of Face Changing

Face changing is a Chinese opera art which started in the early decades of the last century.

The change of “faces”, in fact masks, is a demonstration of the performer’s change of thoughts, emotions or inner world in the performance of the Chinese opera.

Changing face is a unique technique that only the limited chosen persons can learn. A good face changing master can change more than ten faces, and each change will happen only in a split of second, leaving the audience in complete awe and surprise.

Face changing master Mr Tsz-kwan Wong enrolled in the Chinese Opera Academy in China at the age of 13, and has been an outstanding actor for decades. He has performed face changing for many prominent guests of the world, such as the then Prime Minister of Singapore, Prime Minister of Canada and the President of the Czech Republic. Mr Wong has been interviewed and reported by all TV stations and newspapers in Hong Kong, as well as by many overseas media agencies including the CNN. He has also travelled to many places to perform at important occasions.
