Words from the President -Elect
Why Rebuild?
Since 1965, the DC Chapter has used theAlumni House for its home base growinginto the associations premiere chapter.
Years of deferred maintenancehas caught up with us. From treesgrowing through walls, inefficient heatingsystems, to a roof decades past its usefullifespan, it is time to rebuild, now!
BrandonL. Bellamy
Dear Aggies & Friends,
Aggie Pride! I am extremely humbled to be given the opportunity to serve our alma
mater and alumni association as President of the Washington, DC chapter. As you wi
soon come to learn, this executive board represents the great potential that our
association has for the present and the future. We all come very different paths, but ha
converged with one goal, to uplift the DC Chapter focusing on growth and renewal.
While I am not physically at chapter meeting this evening due to presenting at an
international conference; my thoughts and prayers are with our chapter. We are a
multigenerational organization that spans multiple states and a district with a historicphysical headquarters in need of serious rehab. I have secured a commitment from all
officers and committee chairs that we will be intentional in developing ways to make
becoming a member of the DC Chapter a benefit not only to the chapter, but to each
Aggie.
There is a lot ahead of us, and we cannot do this alone. I encourage every Aggie in the
region to commit in some way to support our alma mater. Aggie Pride, it is not just a
saying it is OURway of life.
With Sincere Aggie Pride (from the Netherlands),

What are the goals? The chapter house was purchased tosupport chapter activities and provide asource of revenue for the chapter. Overthe years we have gone from havingmultiple tenants to one sole tenant.Additionally, outside events havedeclined to only a handful per year.
The Alumni House has the potential to bea revenue generating entity to lessen ourreliance on membership for our operating
costs.
