The schematic of the propulsion system is composed of an (a) engine
specically a Honda GX35 4-Stroe engine! (") a clutch #hich is a simple
friction disc pull type clutch! (c) "icycle roller chain! (d) shafts and (e) a
#heel$ The engine #ill transmit po#er "y a shaft through the clutch to
another shaft #ith a sprocet attached$ This shaft #ill transmit po#er %ia
roller chain to the a&le of the #heel #ith another sprocet attached on it$
Since this clutch is a friction disc pull-type clutch! the action of pressing the
pedal pushes the release "earing (e$g$ thrust "earing) into the clutch!
pushing on the diaphragm spring and engaging the %ehicle dri%e$ 'nother
action of pressing the pedal pulls the release "earing! pulling on the
diaphragm spring and disengaging the %ehicle dri%e$ hen the %ehicle dri%e
is engaged "y the clutch! the po#er #ill "e transmitted %ia transmission
system #hich #as specied earlier thus propelling the %ehicle$
nno%ation *+ ,eplacement of steel chassis "y an aluminium framechassis
'luminum is lighter than steel$ t is also relati%ely stronger and cheaper
than other metals$ 'nd more importantly! it has a %ery high strength-to-
#eight ratio$
nno%ation .+ ,eplacement of "er glass "y car"on "er
/ar"on "er orcar"on "re is a material consisting of "ersa"out 50
*1 micrometres in diameter and composed mostly of car"onatoms$ The
properties of car"on "ers! such as high sti2ness! high tensile strength! lo#
#eight! high chemical resistance! high temperature tolerance and lo#thermal e&pansion mae it %ery applica"le for the replacement of "er glass$
t also has a %ery high strength-to-#eight ratio! and is e&tremely rigid$ Thus
car"on "er #ill replace "er glass #hich is relati%ely hea%ier and ha%e
higher health riss (e$g$ irritate the eyes! sin! nose! throat and the
respiratory system! dyspnea ("reathing diculty) sore throat! hoarseness
and cough)$
nno%ation 3+ 'ddition of Speedometer
There is a certain speed #here po#er is ma&imum thus o"tainingoptimum energy eciency$ 'n addition of a speedometer #ill gi%e us the
range of speed that our %ehicle #ill "e running to o"tain energy eciency
%ery near to optimum$
