Welcome to the new Just Desserts brochure

Based in the heart of West Yorkshire, we are an independent, family run business, established in 1985. We specialise in baking a range of high quality, award winning, handmade desserts, cakes and quiche which we supply to the food service industry.

As a family run business we have a great sense of purpose and take enormous pride in what we do. Our mission statement is simply to exceed expectations and provide a range of products that you would be proud to call your own.

We hold the Salsa food safety management accreditation and over the years many of our products have been recognised in the Great Taste and Deliciouslyorkshire awards.

We deliver direct throughout Yorkshire, Lancashire, Lincolnshire and The Midlands, in our fleet of temperature controlled vehicles, as well as working with carefully chosen distributors. We provide a consistent and dependable service, supported by a talented team of bakers, a knowledgeable and friendly office team and a dedicated team of delivery drivers.

What’s New

The bakery Elves are as busy as ever and have come up with lots of new and exciting additions to the range. Some are literally “just out of the oven” and others, we’ve been making for quite some time but they’ve never made it into the brochure …until now!

Check out pages 5 and 7 for Coconut Tart … a flavour that’s been absent from the range for far too long. It’s available as a large tart to slice or in the individual format.

White Chocolate and Baileys Torte makes a welcome return with a brand new recipe, and jolly tasty it is too.

We’ve a couple of new arrivals on page 7 in the Gluten Free Section … Lemon Meringue Cake and Raspberry and White Chocolate Cake … both are doing really well and we’ve got Cookie Dough Puks with White Chocolate Chips on page 8

Page 10 sees the introduction of the Luxury Cheesecake range. We’ve developed a completely new recipe with a most beautiful vanilla flavour and it’s going down an absolute storm.

This leads us seamlessly to the latest arrival …Double Chocolate Cheesecake … made with Chocolate Biscuit Crumb and Cheesecake topped off with a Chocolate Ganache.

We’ve started producing our award winning Toffee Pudding in a deep 9” tray and topped it off with a very rich Toffee Sauce … made with dark muscovado sugar, and as if this wasn’t enough, we’re now making Plain and Sultana Scones (Page 12) and have just launched a range of Individual Quiche!

So, let’s hear it for the Bakery Elves!!

Tempting Tarts and PastriesBramley Apple Pie 2 x 14 Portions (V) This is made with fresh Bramley Apples and baked in a 12” fluted foil.

Blueberry Pie 2 x 12 Portions (V) This is a traditional pie, which is delicious served hot or cold with cream or custard.

Lemon Meringue Pie 1 x 12 Portions (V) This is baked in a sweet butter pastry case and filled with tangy lemon and topped with lashings of meringue.

Bakewell Tart 2 x 12 Portions (V) The traditional “Be-Ro” bakewell tart in a sweet pastry case and finished with toasted almonds.

Black Cherry Franzipan 2 x 12 Portions (V) This is a stylish continental tart with a glazed finish for extra eye appeal and has proved to be very popular.

Raspberry Franzipan 2 x 12 Portions (V) A purée of fresh raspberry covered with franzipan and studded with fresh raspberries, gently baked and glazed. Just sublime!

Rhubarb Franzipan 2 x 12 Portions (V) Based on our award winning Raspberry Franzipan, we use rhubarb grown in the forcing sheds of Wakefield based E Oldroyd and Sons and jolly tasty it is too. The tart is made with a butter pastry base spread with a purée of sweetened rhubarb, covered with a franzipan mixture and finished with batons of tender Yorkshire rhubarb.

French Lemon Tart 2 x 12 Portions (V) This is one of our top five products, and provides a tangy and refreshingly light end to any meal. Made using a traditional French recipe.

English Treacle Tart 2 x 12 Portions (V) This is comfort food at its best … traditional, sweet, sticky … and Award Winning!

Caramel Apple Crumble 1 x 14 Portions (V) This is baked in a deep 10 inch fluted foil and made with butter pastry filled with a layer of pastry cream and bramley apple, topped with an oatmeal crumble and finished with caramel fudge icing.

Chocolate Tart 1 x 12 Portions (V) Fresh Only. Along with the Lemon Tart this is probably the other most popular “classic” French patisserie line. Made using a Michel Roux chocolate ganache in a butter pastry tart case, it produces a beautifully understated luxurious dessert.

Coconut Tart 2 x 12 Portions (V) Here’s a lovely addition to the pastry range, it’s simple, uncomplicated and if you like coconut you’ll absolutely love this. Butter pastry spread with a generous layer of raspberry jam, and topped with a deliciously moist coconut mixture. Serve just as it is or try it warm with custard.

Tempting Tarts and PastriesBanoffee Pie 1 x 12 Portions (V) Fresh Only. A butter pastry case filled with a delicious caramel, topped with fresh bananas and whipped cream.

Red Cherry Lattice Tart 2 x 12 Portions (V) Beautiful pastry, lashings of plump red cherries and finished with a lattice top.

Yorkshire Curd Tart 2 x 12 Portions (V) Curd tart is probably the forerunner of today’s cheesecake and combines the savoury flavour of curd cheese with the sweetness of currants enlivened with mixed spice and nutmeg.

Pecan Nut Tart 2 x 12 Portions (V) This is baked in a fluted pastry case with a new recipe for the “gooey” bit... we now chop the pecan nuts to make it easier for you to cut. Try serving with crème fraîche as a tasty contrast.

Chantilly Profiteroles x 26 1 x 13 Portions (V) Large profiteroles filled with fresh dairy Chantilly cream. We add just enough icing sugar to give an extra profile to the fresh cream without it becoming too sweet. The rolls are left uncoated to provide more choice. As an alternative to the usual Chocolate Sauce try Toffee... it’s delicious and different.

Individual Tarts Based on our award winning pastry range, we have created a selection of Individual Tarts. Baked in 10cm fluted tins, they are made using butter pastry and our tried and tested recipes.

They are perfect for selling over the counter at Farm Shops and Delis as well as providing a cost effective food service solution.

They provide ease of service, perfect portion control, and are competitively priced to help you obtain good GP’s.

Cakes from the StatesTraditional Chocolate Fudge Cake 1 x 16 Portions (V) This is still our top selling line and is ideally suited to the display cabinet. The cake is coated with a firm setting dark chocolate fudge icing and finished with a decorative rope of fudge icing.

Choc & Orange Fudge Cake 1 x 14 Portions (V) A chocolate fudge cake with orange curd running through the middle, finished with fudge icing and decorated with marzipan oranges and chocolate mini flakes.

Choc & Mint Fudge Cake 1 x 14 Portions (V) Finished with a layer of mint fudge icing and decorated with After Eight mints.

Red Velvet Cake 1 x 16 Portions (V) Straight from the States, this is a version of Devil’s Food Cake, so called because it’s just so good it must be sinful. It’s a deliciously light and tender three layer sponge, made with buttermilk and finished with a cream cheese and vanilla frosting.

Peanut Brownie Stack 1 x 10 Portion (V) Layers of fudge brownie sandwiched with peanut butter cream icing, finished with chocolate fudge, nibbed peanuts and a drizzle of caramel. Shortbread Biscuits 1 x 40 (V) One of our best kept secrets is our range of shortbread biscuits which we have developed over the last few years. They are all rolled out and cut by hand and so far we have made hearts, rounds, stars and fingers of all sizes. They are used with chocolate fountains, morning coffee, as a component for a dessert, or as a value adding extra. They just melt in the mouth and you simply need to taste them.

Classic Cheesecakes Our cheesecakes are made in 10” hoops and have a digestive crumb base topped generously with a delicately flavoured cheesecake mixture and decorated with a rope of cream.

Fruit Topped Cheesecake 1 x 12 Portions (V) To enhance the quality and appearance of the fruit cheesecake, all fruit toppings are supplied separately in 250ml plastic tubs – one per cheesecake which is included in the price. Extra tubs can be ordered to enable you to offer a wider choice of flavours while maintaining a small stockholding of cheesecakes.

Oreo 1 x 12 Portions (V) Made with an Oreo crumb base and a cheesecake mixture blended with crushed Oreo Biscuits, finished with Mini Oreo biscuits on a cream rosette.

Luxury CheesecakesWe introduced the Creamy Dreamy Cheesecake last Autumn and it has now taken on a whole life of its own. Made with cream, full fat soft cheese, white chocolate and a touch of vanilla, it really is a superb tasting, glorious treat and it also forms the base for our Luxury Cheesecake range.

Tia Maria Chocolate Truffle & Baileys Torte 1 x 16 Portions What a bobby dazzler this is... top marks to Linda, one of our dedicated bakers for this idea... which came to her at 4 in the morning she tells me! She makes a Tia Maria Chocolate Truffle rolled into the size of a malteser. This is placed on a biscuit crumb base and covered with a white chocolate and Baileys mousse and finished with a marbled Tia Maria mirror glaze and a chocolate coffee bean. What can I say... Just Brilliant!

Chocolate Chic! 1 x 16 Portions An individual, seductively dark chocolate mousse, resting on a layer of chocolate sponge and decorated with chocolate mirror glaze and dark chocolate shavings. Very chic!

Raspberry Chic! 1 x 16 Portions (V) A glazed raspberry mousse on a vanilla sponge base finished with a raspberry and a dark and white chocolate pencil.

Mango Chic! 1 x 16 Portions (V) Mango mousse on a vanilla sponge base finished with a mango flavoured glaze.

Toffee Palmiers 1 x 9 Portions (V) Palmiers derive their name from their distinctive shape, said to resemble the top of a palm tree. They are made from thin slices of puff pastry which have been sugared and double rolled, flash baked to caramelise the sugar, sandwiched with cream and caramel and finished with a caramel drizzle. Rather scrummy!

‘The Great British Bake Off’ has gone a long way in reviving the interest in traditional tea time cakes and we have extended our range to meet the growing demand.
