Who We Are Over the last 9 years, Picks and Giggles has evolved as a gateway for local Canadian entrepreneurs to connect directly (in real life) with their local audience, and to spread the powerful message of shopping local.

Communities prosper when a local entrepreneur grows and can start employing local community members—this means reinvesting and hiring other local businesses! Economic growth happens!

In a world full of digital marketing and online shopping, we’re committed to providing a space for you, the modern maker, to showcase and sell your business IRL to the communities around you.

To provide a place for the community to experience and support creative small businesses that take pride in locally produced goods or services, designed and manufactured Canada.

Application Criteria

You are the designerLocally produced goods or services, designed and manufactured in Canada

Production materialsRaw materials used for production do not have to be made in Canada, but we do encourage finding a locally made source when possible!

Your business is heavily involved in the creation of each pieceDesigning and then shipping your design off to overseas for mass production is not something we’ll permit at our handmade markets. Resellers from bulk sites such as Alibaba may not apply

We spend months and months planning the best possible market for not only shoppers to experience local, but for you, the maker!

In order to remain an exclusive and well attended market, we ask that you refrain from joining any other handmade markets within 14 days before, and after our market—within a 20 km radius of where our markets take place.

Before you apply, we’ll need you to be able to:

Take us through your production process from start to finishAs we mentioned above, all the items you wish to sell at our market must be made by your company and must fit within the application criteria above. Tell us where your raw materials come from, are you the only one making your products, if not—where else is your help in manufacturing coming from. Please be detailed, as this is the most important question in the whole application process.

Provide 5 high resolution photosWe ask that you e-mail [email protected] 5 high resolution photos—our jury will use these to help in the selection process. These photos must be up to date and include some of the items you wish to sell, should you be selected.

Tell us all about you!We want to know about you, why you started your business, who your inspirations are and where you see your biz in the next 5 years.

Show us your set-upPlease send us a sketch or photo of your previous booth set up. Pinterest is a great resource if you are unsure of ideas. This gives us an idea of what to expect should you be selected.

A website link on our page to your business site

A booth space to design however you see best fits your products/services

Pre-show support from our private online Facebook group for participating shops only

Exposure to our large social media following

Professionally pre-designed graphics package to help you advertise your presence at our market

After we receive your application, our panel will go through all applicants (that meet our application guidelines) and select businesses based on their style, social media presence and market suitability.

Online presence is SO important—we want modern makers who know the importance of investing in high quality photos of their products/services, as well having a clear brand representation.

As we mentioned above, we are not a bazaar—we’re looking for passionate small entrepreneurs who want to elevate their business to the next level.

Only accepted businesses will hear from us, via email. A registration form will be sent your way —and once processed we will ask for payment within 48 hours to secure your space.
