Race 1

#5 Break and Enter - Best Bet

#2 Flash of Silver

#4 Cause for Alarm

#6 Insider Trading

#5 BREAK AND ENTER broke his maiden when racing

on the front end around two turns on November 29, then

failed to threaten when racing wide in a sprint against

$40,000 non-threes 17 days later. He catches a

manageable group for his first start of the season. #2

FLASH OF SILVER raced wide between foes in his local

debut on June 7, never getting involved. He gets in much

easier here and stretches out to two turns; he broke his

maiden around two turns at Oaklawn. #4 CAUSE FOR

ALARM raced well in the majority of his starts last meet.

Although he jumps up in value from $7,000 to $14,000 he

does not look out of place with this group. #6 INSIDER

TRADING raced wide and was no factor in a first level

allowance sprinting on the outer turf last week. He gets

back out to a route and drops in for a tag for the first time.

#7 Trinity Thunder

#6 Seifert

#1 Kyslios’s Justice

#3 PROPER PROPOSAL debuted for $10,000 at Tampa,

taking some mild bumps at the start before falling back,

then making a mild rally in a race where the top three

were 1-2-3 for the majority of the race. If he can get some

better early position he may take a step in the right

direction. #7 TRINITY THUNDAH hit the board in a

number of soft groups as a two year old, and also had a

romping win from which he was disqualified. His last two

starts have been complete non-efforts; he drops in for

$10,000. #6 SEIFERT showed some run in his debut in

August. He returned against three-and-up $32,000 foes

at Gulfstream in March, rather early for a three year old to

take on older, and was never involved; he gets in with a

soft bunch here. #1 KYSLIOS’S JUSTICE has had a

number of on-the-edges finishes in his 31 start career. He

raced without hind shoes in his December 15 start; he will

have all four on today.

Race 3

#1 Benevida

#7 Soexotic

#5 Miss Verrazano

#2 Toy Show

#1 BENEVIDA has eight runner up finishes for her one

win but that consistency is something many of her foes

today are lacking. Her Beyers took a significant jump in

her two starts over the Tapeta at the end of 2019; looks

like the one to beat. #7 SOEXOTIC made just two starts

last year, losing by a head to Bear Paw who has

developed into a decent mare at higher levels, then

finished a well-beaten third in a race won by a lone-speed

romper. Certainly worth a look off of the extended layoff.

#5 MISS VERRAZANO stalked the pacesetter before

drawing off to an easy win against $10,000 maidens on

opening day. She looks like the pacesetter in a race

consisting mainly of routers. #2 TOY SHOW was able to

rally for a massive upset win against $15,000 two year

olds on December 7. She will need to take a big step

forward to be able to repeat but could earn a share.

#4 Bode’s Maker

#5 CHEEK TO CHEEK tailed off at the end of the season

but was in good form for much of 2019. In his lone start

over this course he was fourth in a tough group; if he’s

ready fresh as he was last year he figures to be tough. #1

BEN’S LAST CALL closed out last year with four decent

races at this level. With the rail in Lane 3 the ability to

save ground could be the difference maker; he was a

very good second in his only start over this course. #2

EXECUTIVE SIGHT was winless in 2019 but earned

several shares. He ended the year with a runner-up finish

behind the class-dropping, heavily favoured Serengeti

Cat. He figures to be one of the pacesetters. #4 BODE’S

MAKER returns from an 11-month layoff. In his last start

at Ellis he was pressured down the backstretch, then may

have been cost the win when he drifted off of the rail after

a couple of left-handed hits leaving the path wide open

for the eventual winner. He was the subject of a claim

voided by the vet on that day; a wild card.

Race 5

#7 Final Eclipse

#6 Cohiba Ghost

#5 Dancers Ghost

#2 Carl G

#7 FINAL ECLIPSE got some foundation at Palm

Meadows and is now ready to debut. He is a half-brother

to Stakes winning sprinter Niigon’s Eclipse as well as

talented router Portree, who debuted at three and was

able to notch his first two career starts. #6 COHIBA

GHOST returned at Laurel on June 1 after a year off and

had a poor trip in a two-turn turf race. In his debut over

Tapeta he was beaten a nose by the talented Mas

Chikilin; a logical contender. #5 DANCERS GHOST does

not seem to have much early speed but certainly showed

some ability as a two year old. He now returns as a

gelding. #2 CARL G made two starts at Tampa this

spring, exiting a turf race where he was four-wide on the

opening turn before tiring. This will be his first start

around one turn.

Race 6

#8 Crumlin Time

#6 Misguided Passion

#2 J M R Bold Vision

#5 Sadie Irene

#8 CRUMLIN TIME did not run poorly in a mixed-

condition race at Oaklawn last time out; stablemate Not

Orbinary came out of that race to win on the inner turf for

against $15,000 foes last week. She didn’t run badly

when sprinting over the turf last fall; the blinkers come off.

#6 MISGUIDED PASSION was able to close into a strong

headwind on June 11, finishing a good third. That race is

probably better than it looks on paper; if she can run back

to it she’s a contender. #2 J M R BOLD VISION was able

to narrowly hold on for a win 12 days ago, earning a

potentially inflated 62 Beyer. That was the first time she

crossed the wire first as she broke her maiden via DQ; if

you believe in the lightbulb angle she could be the horse

for you.

Race 7

#7 Daddyplaystheblues

#4 Have a Souper Day

#3 Valuable Pillow

#2 Alter Ego

#7 DADDYPLAYSTHEBLUES hooked some very tough

company as a two year old and did not always run as bad

as it may look on paper. If he has stepped forward from

two to three and could find a way to get better early

position he may be the upsetter. #4 HAVE A SOUPER

DAY is the clear and obvious horse to beat but has been

somewhat of a money-burner to this point. Last year he

was frequently run in two-week intervals and he will do

the same here; his season opener 12 days ago was a

respectable third. This is his first time in the

$40,000/Ontario Sired category. #3 VALUABLE PILLOW

has had two forgivable races coming into this; one where

he was four-wide on the opening turn on the Tampa turf

and then an empty effort over the dirt. He gets back to the

synthetic and around one turn which has suited him fine

before. #2 ALTER EGO will debut here. He is a half

brother to the talented Analyzer; Signature Red is 11 for

53 with first time starters.

Race 8

#9 Lapochka

#4 Forester’s Destiny

#5 Rocket Plan

#8 Court Battle

#12 Where’s the Widget

#9 LAPOCHKA is not really thought of as a sprinter but

seemed to take well to the one-turn mile at Gulfstream

this winter. He has a recency edge over the vast majority

of the competition. #4 FORESTER’S DESTINY will sprint

for the first time since being claimed in May 2018. He was

capable as a sprinter when he was younger and is

fortunate to be catching a group with a number of routers;

an inside trip is favourable for him. #5 ROCKET PLAN is

a horse who normally has very little turn speed, and

although winless on the surface seems to enjoy the broad

turn this course offers. Some of his starts from late 2019

were not as bad as they look on paper; he figures to offer

good value. #8 COURT BATTLE raced primarily between

the $5,000 and $10,000 levels last year and ran a

number of good races. The bar shoes that he wore for the

majority of the year are now removed. #12 WHERE’S

THE WIDGET is the class of the field, with 13 wins and

over $600,000 in career earnings. Although a restricted

Stakes winner over it, turf is likely his worst surface, and

the 12 hole is a hindrance, but he’s a very nice horse who

could contend with some trip luck.
