Race 1

#2 Crumlin Time

#1 Millbank Magic

#4 What’s In a Kiss (IRE)

#6 Rexdale

#2 CRUMLIN TIME nearly pulled off an upset on June 30

but came up just a bit short after racing three and four

wide on the turn. A better trip should make her a serious

player. #1 MILLBANK MAGIC had a ground saving trip

before finding a path in the stretch when breaking her

maiden on June 15. She is increased in value from

$15,000 to $25,000 for her first start against winners. #4

WHAT’S IN A KISS (IRE) angled off of the rail late on the

turn to launch a rally and was a game fourth finishing

widest in the stretch in the same race Crumlin Time exits.

#6 REXDALE also exits the same June 30 race as

Crumlin Time and What’s In a Kiss. She raced two and

three wide and chased with interest despite not truly

threatening.

Race 2

#4 Gold Lace

#7 Miss Savvy

#6 Copper Fox

#1 Burbank Road

#4 GOLD LACE was an easy winner when racing for

$60,000 on June 29 and now submarines in for $37,500.

Versatile mare can employ several different running

styles and should be tough in her attempt to extend her

winning streak to five. #7 MISS SAVVY was up front early

in an off-turf race on May 25, but started getting out late

on the turn and continued to drift in the stretch. The wider

turn on the E. P. Taylor course may help with that

problem; the class drop should also be good for her. #6

COPPER FOX has won two races in a row with very easy

leads. Like Gold Lace she is dropping off of a win for

$60,000; turf is a question mark and there could be some

pace pressure this time around. #1 BURBANK ROAD

kicks off her season after ending last year with two wins

at lower levels. Her only turf race was an okay effort at

Laurel over a year ago; she deserves another look on the

surface.

Race 3

#4 One for Nicki

#5 Adabel

#1 Take It Easy

#6 Kewanne

#4 ONE FOR NICKI kicked off her season on June 22

against $40,000/Ontario Sired foes on turf, had a wide

trip in midpack and flattened out. She drops in class, gets

back to the synthetic and makes her second start off of

the bench. #5 ADABEL started her season in the same

June 22 turf race, clearing to the rail when showing

speed, sitting second and tiring in the stretch. If she gets

clear she may be tough to run down. #1 TAKE IT EASY

ran two good races on the synthetic to kick off her career

but was a non-threat in that June 22 turf race, although

finishing in front of my top two choices. She is capable of

showing early speed. #6 KEWANNE has picked up a

check in seven of her nine career starts. She may not be

good enough to beat some of these class droppers but

should put in an effort; the blinkers come off.

Race 4

#1 Mizzona – Best Bet

#6 Gypsy Jazz

#8 Dolly Dagger

#5 Lucky Girasol

#1 MIZZONA faced open $15,000 mares to kick off her

season and ran a terrific race to be second behind

Congeniality. She likes turf and should greatly appreciate

the drop into non-winners of three. #6 GYPSY JAZZ

stalked the pace and came up empty when facing

$25,000 non-twos last time out. She should appreciate

the cutback to a sprint and although still a one time

winner, she does not look out of place. #8 DOLLY

DAGGER started off the season with a decent third place

finish but has been regressing gradually since, and will

now drop from $40,000 to $15,000. #5 LUCKY GIRASOL

has failed to threaten in two starts since arriving here,

facing second level allowance company and three-year

old Stakes fillies in the William Graham Memorial. This

will be her first attempt on turf where she has not been

completely overmatched.

Race 5

#7 No Question

#5 This Round’s Mine

#1 Roche’s Point

#4 Beach Bar

#7 NO QUESTION showed no speed on debut, launched

a rally in the stretch and finished up well despite no

shortage of traffic. Some better racing luck could make

her a big factor. #5 THIS ROUND’S MINE broke poorly,

raced greenly and was practically distanced in the early

stages of her debut, but got rolling in the stretch and

finished with the pack. She adds blinkers and likely

needed the experience. #1 ROCHE’S POINT finished a

good second in a soft group for the level in her debut on

June 29. She didn’t break great on that day; a clean start

could make her a pace player. #4 BEACH BAR trained in

Ocala this winter before arriving here in the spring and is

now ready to debut. She is the first foal to race for a dam

who won on debut.

Race 6

#5 Surgical Strike

#3 Black Sea (FR)

#2 Fire for Effect

#4 Bold Rally

#5 SURGICAL STRIKE will make his first start since

March when he was a non-factor in the Kentucky Cup

Classic on the Turfway polytrack. Multiple-Stakes winner

is not short on class, he did put in a good run at Melmich

last year, and make take well to this course in his first

start off of the bench. #3 BLACK SEA (FR) was the best

horse two starts back when facing significant traffic, but

was unable to quicken when finishing a decent fifth in a

very tough group 10 days ago. He returns quickly with a

drop in class. #2 FIRE FOR EFFECT will likely be

forwardly placed along with Nevaeh’s Valentine. He’s

another one dropping in class after a pair of well beaten

fourths when entered for $60,000. He had a couple of

okay turf races in Kentucky back in 2017. #4 BOLD

RALLY will make his first start after winning and being

claimed for $25,000 on June 28. Although he finished

second for this price two starts back, that was a much

softer group than this one. He is looking to become the

first horse with two wins on the inner course.

Race 7

#6 Street Legal

#2 Forester’s Destiny

#5 Florida Won

#3 Guitar George

#6 STREET LEGAL faced a very solid group of $40,000

sprinters to kick off the year and was beaten about five

lengths. He takes a drop for his second start of the year

and should appreciate getting back to a route. #2

FORESTER’S DESINTY was pressing the pace in his

season opener. As I’ve referenced a few times, that race

was for $40,000 but everybody except the winner was

worth about $25,000 so it’s tough to consider this a class

drop; he could be better with his preferred stalking trip. #5

FLORIDA WON had an easy lead and no obvious excuse

when finishing fourth in a $40,000 turf race going 10

furlongs two weeks ago. He prefers the Tapeta and may

be better at the shorter distance. #3 GUITAR GEORGE

closed to be fourth in a race won very easily by Nevaeh’s

Valentine, who was lone speed on that day.

Race 8

#7 Unseen Angels

#1 I Have Feelings

#3 Light My Path

#6 Sky Vision

#2 Ginger Candy

#7 UNSEEN ANGELS was outkicked when beaten by

Hailey’s Prize for $9,500 two weeks ago and now cuts in

half to $4,750. 12 time winner is the one to beat. #1 I

HAVE FEELINGS seemed to struggle over the dirt when

facing starter allowance foes at Fort Erie on June 25. She

was able to wire non-threes for $7,000 two starts back

and the drop in for $4,750 is likely appropriate. #3 LIGHT

MY PATH closed from last to be fourth in the same race

Unseen Angels exits. There are a few speed types here;

maybe things set up better for this mare. #6 SKY VISION

narrowly held to win her non-three for $7,000 last time

out. Although her Beyer came up solid, this is a tougher

assignment. #2 GINGER CANDY was entered for $7,000

going a mile on the grass to begin her season nine days

ago. She gets back to a sprint and puts blinkers back on

for her second attempt of the year.
