With our ceramics we add fire to these same elements creating a fusion, a metamor-phosis into something unique. In this way our Lab is like a gar-den where we germinate small miracles in the form of colour and body.

L’écologie : une réalité au quotidien chez jars.Dans la manufacture

Au cœur de nos ateliers, dans la succession des gestes ma-nuels de chaque jour, nous faisons des choix engagés pour pré-server l’environnement. Nous recyclons les déchets au maxi-mum : les excédents de pâte sont réutilisés, l’eau est recyclée et nous ne rejetons aucune eau polluée dans la nature environ-nante. La chaleur de nos fours est réutilisée pour chauffer les atelier ou les séchoirs, en fonction du process de production.

Mono cuisson

Au fil des ans, Jars a développé une maitrise spécifique des cuissons.Chaque fabrication est réalisée sur des pièces crues qui sont émail-lées puis cuites une seule fois à 1285°C. Cette technique assure non seulement une qualité parfaite des pièces, mais permet surtout de minimiser le nombre de cuisson. Chez Jars la cuisson d’une pièce en grés nécessite 3 fois moins de cuisson qu’une porcelaine décorée.

Ecology : at Jars we consider the environment every day, all day.In manufacture

In the heart our pottery, as we go through each hand process of each day, making choices based preserving the environment. We recycle waste to the maximum: the surpluses of slip and paste are re-used, water is recycled and not a drop of polluted water enters the surrounding area. The heat of our furnaces is re-used to heat the workshops and the driers, according to the process of production.

A single fire

With the passing of years, Jars developed a unique firing process.Each manufacture is completed in stages in clay form which is ena-melled then fired only once at a temperature of 1285°C. This tech-nique ensures not only perfect ware quality, but especially makes it possible to minimize the costly firing process. With Jars stoneware body the finished ware only requires one single fire, while usually 3 firings are need to make decorated porcelain and bone china.

Au sein de notre manufacture, 140 mains sont détentrices d’un savoir-faire séculaire, transmis de céramistes en céramistes, depuis 1857.Notre processus de production intégré (depuis la fabrication de la pâte, des moules, des émaux, jusqu’à la cuisson des pièces finales) nous permets de vous proposer des céramiques d’une grande qualité. En effet, tous nos composants sont sélectionnés avec grand soin et sont entièrement naturels.

Usage quotidien

C’est ce soin apporté au choix des matières premières, ainsi que la cuisson à 1280°C, qui confère à nos céramiques cette grande solidité, compatible avec les besoins de nos vies modernes. Utili-sées quotidiennement, les pièces ne s’ébrèchent pas, conservent leur couleurs franches d’origine, et sont étudiées pour être parfaite-ment compatibles avec le lave-vaisselle et le micro-ondes.

140 hands are holders of a secular know-how, handed down from one ceramicist to another, since 1857.Our process of integrated production (from the manufacturing of the paste, molts, glazes, until the firing of the final pieces) enables us to offer high quality ceramics. All our components are carefully selected, and totally natural. Day to day use

The care provided to the choice of the raw materials, as well as the firing at 1280° gives a high strength to our ceramics, compatible with our modern lives’ requirements. Used daily, the pieces do not chip, keep their original strong colors, and are studied to be safe for micro waves and dishwashers.
