2010SponsorReport
Executive Director: ShanetteCohenDear Sponsor,
Thank you so much for your support of the 2010 Hampton Classic, and your role in en-suring it was one of our most successful events to date.
I am so pleased to present you with our 2010 Sponsor Report. We were delighted to wel-come back so many returning sponsors and quite a few new sponsors as well!
Once again, the Hampton Classic featured hunters, equitation, and exciting world classshow-jumping competition as well as some of our most popular activities such as Just-World International’s Horseless Horse Show during our Exhibitor Party and Cablevision’sKid’s Day. We were excited to host the first of what we hope will be an annual event atthe Hampton Classic – ASPCA’s Adoption Day. In addition to facilitating the adoptionof many dogs, cats, and even horses, this event raised awareness about the importanceof finding permanent homes for unwanted and neglected animals. We were also proudto celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Long Island Horse Show Series for Rider’s withDisabilities Finals.
We’d like to extend a special thank you to FTI Consulting, Title Sponsor of the $250,000FTI Grand Prix and World Cup™ Qualifier. For the second year in a row, McLain Wardmade history by winning the class, now for a record fifth time. He and his amazingmare, Sapphire, showed us why they’re two-time Team Olympic Gold-Medal winners.
We truly appreciate the support and involvement of the entire roster of Hampton Clas-sic sponsors. We wouldn’t have a successful show without you and hope you will con-tinue to work with us again next year and well into the future. Mark your calendars nowfor the 2011 Hampton Classic Horse Show: August 28 to September 4.
Thank you, again, for your continued support.
All the best,Shanette Barth CohenExecutive Director

RadioHampton Classic ran commercial spots with a number of Eastern Long Island radio stations, including Peconic Public Broadcasting88.3, WBAZ and WEHM (Long Island Radio Broadcasting) and WLNG. In addition, the Hampton Classic ran an extensive flight of spotson WCBS Newsradio 880 AM, in the Greater New York region.
TelevisionIn advance of the 2010 Hampton Classic, television ads were presented by media sponsors Cablevision Systems Corporation andWVVH Hamptons Television. WVVH created a 30 second commercial for the Classic which aired hundreds of times on WVVH locallyand in Manhattan. The same commercial ran extensively through the month of August on stations carried by Cablevision, airing 464times. The spot also ran on the NASDAQ MarketSite Marquee in New York City.
Internet/Electronic MediaThis year, the Hampton Classic had an automated advertisement on newsday.com and a banner ad on galavante.com, a website forthe sophisticated traveler.
The Hampton Classic website offered competition schedules and results, photographs, general show information (including listingsof boutique vendors, history, and accommodations) and sponsorship and advertising information. Corporate partners were high-lighted in a special “sponsors” tab, where corporate logos appeared to link visitors back to their websites.
The Hampton Classic maintained a Facebook Fan page for the second year in a row to keep exhibitors, spectators, and sponsors in-formed of news and events at the Hampton Classic. Currently, the page has more than 3,500 fans that can view photos, get recentinformation, and discuss the Hampton Classic year round. Links on the fan page drive traffic to the Hampton Classic website as well.
In addition, the Hampton Classic sent out a handful of “blast” emails to the Hampton Classic’s email database. These email blastsoften updated subscribers on developments at the show while tying in a special offer or invitation from a sponsor.
The Hampton Classic Horse Show executes an extensive advertising campaign throughout the East End of Long Island, in the greater
New York Area, and through equine media outlets with a much larger reach. Some ads appear courtesy of our sponsors and other
ads are part of a paid advertising campaign. The Classic’s advertising placements this year included black and white and color ads
in local media outlets as well as in a variety of national and regional publications. In addition, Hampton Classic ran extensive radio
and television advertising, and even added a billboard placement as part of this year’s advertising program.

The JustWorld International Horseless Horse Show pro-
vided the entertainment on Saturday evening during the
Exhibitor Party. Competitors cleared mini jumps against
the clock, while guests enjoyed food and refreshments and
a silent auction in the USET tent. The Horseless Horse
Show was sponsored by Sam Edelman. Other Hampton
Classic sponsors and vendors made contributions to the
event as well.
The Hampton Classic held a “Penny War” at this year’s show to benefit Humane
Equine Aid and Rapid Transport (HEART) Equine Ambulance, sponsored by
Equifit. Barns registered received a donation jar. Participants then added
pennies to these jars, with each penny equating to +1 point. The objec-
tive was to be the barn with the most points. Barns “sabotaged” each
other by adding nickels, dimes, quarters, or even bills to their com-
petitors' jars, earning them negative points. The winning barn re-
ceived prizes from Equifit as well as a table in the Horsemen's
Chalet at the 2011 Hampton Classic Horse Show.
