Enrolments for the start of the year 2015:

Enrolment Scheme SCHOOL ZONE - Home Zone

All students who live within the home zone described below (and/or shown on the attached map), shall be entitled to enrol at the school.

The zone is bounded to the east by the Waikato River and commences at the Whitiora Bridge, then north up the Waikato River to opposite Horotiu Road. West along Horotiu Road to Crawford Road, along Crawford Road, right into Ngaruawahia Road, through to Bedford Road. Along Bedford Road to opposite where the Te Paki Stream joins the Waipa River.

Key Dates: THURSDAY 24 JULY 2014 Enrolment applications open

Up the Paki Stream to its source, then across the ridge to the source of the Mangookahu Stream. Along the Mangookahu Stream to Cogswell Road. Along Cogswell Road to the Hamilton-Raglan Highway (SH 23). Along SH 23 to Fergusson Road, to the intersections with Old Mountain Road.

East at this point to include all the properties on Higginson, Houghton and Eyre Roads, crossing Kakaramea Road to include Walsh Road, Jane Cave Lane, Bowman Road, O’Dea Road, Howden Road and then through to join Wallace Road.

WEDNESDAY 30 JULY 2014 OPEN DAY – Principal’s Address and Tours

Choose from tour commencing 9.00am OR 11.45 am.

Take a line from the end of Wallace Road, south around the back of the properties on Melva Street to the top of Till’s Lookout, around the back of Amanda Avenue and Gibson Road to the corner at Lot 41, then straight through behind the properties on Pygmalion Place. Continue along the North side of Tuhikaramea Road, proceeding towards Temple View, then across to the South side of Tuhikaramea Road at 252 Tuhikaramea Road.

WEDNESDAY 1 OCTOBER 2014 Out of Zone Enrolment Applications close

Proceed along the back of the properties on Tuhikaramea Road, around the housing line to Kahikatea Park, and around Shelley-Jane Place, to the main trunk railway line.

Letters of Enrolment confirmation will be sent from this date

Continue along the main trunk railway line to the

northern end of Innes Common. Along Queens Avenue, Lake road, Commerce Street, Mill Street to the Whitiora Bridge.

Note: Both sides of all streets and roads included in the above description are included unless otherwise stated. Proof of residence within the home zone will be required.

On completion of Enrolment Forms attend a pre-booked interview, made through the Main Office, with the Acting Deputy Principal, Mr. Tini, to finalize the enrolment.

OUT OF ZONE Out of zone applications for enrolment will be prioritized in the following order: Priority 1: Students seeking to enrol in special

programmes approved by the Secretary Enrolments during the year: Priority 2: Applicants who are siblings of students

currently enrolled at Fraser High School On completion of Enrolment Forms attend a pre-booked interview. On acceptance of Enrolment:

Priority 3: Applicants who are siblings of former students of Fraser High School

Priority 4: Applicants who are children of employees of the Fraser High School Board of Trustees

Priority 5: All other applicants Start Day Tuesday or Thursday – in full school uniform, which includes receipt of timetable and a tour of the school

BALLOT If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth or fifth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by ballot conducted in accordance with the instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11G(1) of the Education Act 1989.

Regulation Uniform 2015 There is ONE uniform code and any combination of this may be worn at any time throughout the year. There is no Summer/Winter variation. Regulation uniform is not to be modified or altered significantly without the agreement of the school.

Note: Students in incorrect uniform may be sent home or withdrawn from class. “Our school uniform impacts on the look and public perception of our school. We want Fraser students and our school to be reflected in a positive light in our wider community!”

All students at all year levels are required to wear correct uniform at all times, including to and from school.

Apart from footwear, plain white or black ankle socks, and pantihose, all regulation uniform is to be purchased from

permitted. Facial piercing may NOT be worn. Jewellery: One pair of ear studs and wrist watch

only. A necklace with a bone carving or similar pendant may be worn under the shirt.
