    students

    from

    the Chinese

Christian Seminary from Hong Kong, the girls were able to

distribute Bibles in the local language and

    were

able to meet for the first time with 70

    Chinese

people in the village where friends are located in a work project. Seventy peopie came to the

    small

    home

    meeting and

    crowded

    in to hear the Gospelior

    the

first time This is what we had

prayed for and the Lord has poured out His answer. Many

    came

    to Christ and the others

wanted more teaching and have invited the team back again to continue sharing this

message of Hope and Salvation. We thank you all for your prayers and financial help.

Please contact us for more detailed information on this project. We work with Hong Kong

Since we have been in the

    states,

    two couples have

    reached the

    foreign field

    and one

single worker is in Jamaica. Mike Riddle and the Deruy's are also raising support for

long-term work and several people are planning to be with us for the summer internship.

Mike Riddle is joining the Outreach International team for the '86

    summer

    internship in

Kenya and for further work during the following year. Youth ministry has

    become

    a very

    important part of

    the

ministry in East Africa, and Mike can make a valuable contribution to our

    effort in this area.

    f

you would like to help him with support (about 1500 air fare and 500

    per month

    support ,

    please

contact him at the following address: Mike Riddle, P. O. Box

13116, Knoxville, TN 37920. He would be happy to come and speak to your church.

Bob and Maxine Deruy are presently finishing their discipleship

    program

    in Limestone,

    Tennessee, and are hoping to

    leave

    for Maiani, Kenya, in May,

    when

    their son,

    Joey,

    is out of

school. Their air fare and most of

    the

money for their automobile has been raised, but they

    are still

    short

    of

    their

goal of 800 monthly support . Their position

    as

    teachers in the Maiani

    secondary

    school

    is confirmed

    and the doors

    ar e

    open

    to

    their

    work of

    evangelism

    and

    teaching the

    Christians already

    there. They

    will

    be

    entering a five year

    contract

    with

    the

    school

system, giving them time to build relationships with the students and people of

    the

    Maiani community.

    f

    you can help with their

    support,

or if you want to know more

    about

    their

    work,

    please

    contact them at this

    address:

Bob Maxine Deruy, Rt. 1, Box 45, Limestone, TN

    37681.

They will be available to speak to you or your

    congregation

    until their departure

    date.

    returned

from Jamaica and hopes to join

    the

    team in

    East

    Jamaica

    under the direction of the

    local Christians.

    Let me

    share

with you part of a letter from Wing Wong,

    dated

    April 7th. I think it

    will

    help you understand

    the

    significance of this

    open

    door into China:

    Al, this last

    Shenzhen

trip has confirmed several things that might Interest you. First, many young

Christian people are interested in spreading the Gospel in China, but they did not know how. They need leaders

    and

training. Second, it gives us more freedom and opportunity while there are Americans on the team. Ifyour

girls and Norm were not there the other day when we had the evangelistic meeting, I think the Communistparty

    members

    might not

    be

so polite to us. We could hold

    such

    a meeting inChina

    because

    of Norm's special

position. Third, people inChina are thirsty of the Gospel. They listen well. Fourth. Communists are not really

that tough to deal with. Ithink many Christians are defeated by their own fear. Afterall, our Lord has been with us

all the way and we believe that He Is able to carry us through any circumstances.

May you continue to pray for the direction of

    the

    Lord that you may

    come

    back

    and take the

    teams

    to

spread the Gospel in China. You can go Into China to make the

    necessary connections

    and explore to

opportunities. Ican organize and train the team to go in with you just likewhat we did on Easter. I believe we can

start a lotoffire in China. Atthe meantime, you may seek out for Christian business men who might be working in

China inthe near future. May God bless you

    as

you are willing to serve Him

    as

    He leads.

    Pray

    for

    us and

    for those who work with
