Crimean Peninsula

The Western part of Ukraine Lviv (Lemberg at the time of the Austro - Hungarian Empire) is Ukraines secret western capital. Just an hour by a plane from Vienna or Berlin and you are in the Lion city. It was founded in 1256 by Prince Danylo Halytskiy and named in honour of his son Lev or Leo. Due to the abundance of architectural and historical monuments, the city was recognized by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee as a treasure house of culture and the central part of the city was included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage.
