How to make your Halloween biscornu

You will need:• 2 finished stitched pieces • a small amount of stuffing • 2 beads or buttons for the centre • seed beads (optional)

Iron your 2 stitched pieces and trim them leaving approximately 1cm (half an inch) of fabric from the back stitched line. Trim the corners off.

1

Using 2 strands of thread, and working on the right side, join the point of the back piece to the centre of the front piece.

3

Fold over the spare fabric to the back stitch line, and pin the centre points of each side.

2

Page 6: halloween biscornu front NOTE - Lakeside Needlecraft · the needle through the biscornu from bead to bead, and pulling the thread taut to create a dimple in the middle. Your Halloween

Using 2 strands of thread, sew 2 beads or buttons (one each side) to the centre, passing the needle through the biscornu from bead to bead, and pulling the thread taut to create a dimple in the middle.

Your Halloween biscornu is now complete.

6

Stitch around the sides by passing your needle under a back stitch on either side (not the fabric) and making sure to match up the corners to the halfway points as you go.

4

Continue in this manner around until you reach the last side, stuff the biscornu, then sew up the gap. Secure and cut off your thread.

5

If you wish to add seed beads to the edge do this as you sew the sides up, threading a bead on your needle before a stitch either at intervals or at each stitch depending on the look you wish to achieve.
