HALLOWE’EN
OriginsHalloween began two thousand years ago mainly in Ireland, UK and Northern France with the ancient religion of the Celts.
On the night of October 31, they celebrated Samhain, when it was believed that the ghosts of the dead returned to earth.
When Christianity spread into Celtic lands, All Saints' Day, was introduced to replace this pagan festival.
But people didn´t forget their early customs.
In 19th century, millions of Irish emigrants poured into America as a result of the potato famine. They brought with them their traditions .
