The Global HSE Objectives outlined below are expressed in the form of generic Performance Standards and are necessary to attain a high level of performance and to reduce the level of risk.
• Establish and maintain an organizational structure with clearly defined responsibilities • Maintain and enhance a culture which recognizes and encourages the full and active participation of all employees • Implement and continuously improve the management system and standards to reflect best industry practices • Continually improve our business processes through increased understanding of the process links and relationships • Comply with the requirements of appropriate national and international regulations, codes of practice and standards. Where no regulatory controls exist, Halliburton will develop and utilize its own standards • Ensure that all potential risks associated with all of our activities are assessed as early as is practicable in order to minimize adverse effects and to identify opportunities for improvement • Continually improve our resources through the implementation of structured training and development • Solicit the active participation of our clients, suppliers and contractors in order to promote exemplary management practices within our area of activities and the community at large • Each Business Unit/Sub Business Unit shall establish within their management system goals and targets that are regularly reviewed and measured • Regularly monitor and evaluate performance to ensure compliance with this policy and objectives • Facilitate and maintain effective HSE communication across all levels of the organization • Increase profit by the effective control of loss The objectives are to be sufficiently precise that performance against them can be measured as part of the internal audit and review process of the Halliburton Management System.
