A.Iqbal Ahmed Saheb. Former Principal, Dr. N.M.Mohd. Dhaha, had the

pleasure of participating in the Celebration. The Welcome Address

presented by the Principal, Dr.S.A.Sajid, entrapped the assembly in the

nectar of cordial fraternity. The Chief Guest, Hazrath Moulana Moulvi

Mufti Shakeel Ahmed Saheb, Rashadi, Qasimi, Naqshbandi, Vice-Principal,

Jamia Baqiyathus Salihat Arabic College, Vellore, gave a detailed

explanation of the Meccan Verse 157 of Al-A’raff, a sacred Chapter in the

Holy Quran and hailed the Prophet as one chosen Messenger of Allah and

whose reference is also made in the Book of Moses. Dr.K.Anver Basha,

Convener of the Meelad Committee, played a prominent role in bringing

up the Function. The Proceedings came to end with the presentation of

Vote of Thanks, in all its exotic degree of gratitude, by Dr.S.Zaheer

Ahmed, Secretary of the Meelad Committee.

Commission, New Delhi, released

the Grant-in-Aid to the tune of

Rs.5,24,200 for continuation of

the Major Research Project

undertaken by Dr.K.Anver Basha and sum of Rs.69,458 for accomplishing

the Research Project monitored by Dr.S.Sheik Mansoor.

The College in association with the New

Technology Mobile Service And Training

Institute, Coimbatore, had conducted a Two-Day

Hands – on Training on ‘Smart Phone Service and

Troubleshooting’. Students, in large numbers,

evinced keen interest in the Programme and

were largely benefited from the training imparted on the two days.

Principal, Dr.S.A. Sajid, is particular about giving training to Students in

important segments to help them to stand on their own legs after their

studies.

on AIDS, the P.G. and

Research Dept. of Zoology

had staged a Special Lecture

in the Seminar Hall. The

Programme was presided over by the Principal, Dr.S.A. Sajid and Special

Talk by Dr.A.Akbar, Head of the Dept. of Botany, instilled in the young

minds the harmful effects of AIDS and the preventive measures for a

happy and healthy living. Dr.R.Rafi Mohamed had officiated as the Co-

ordinator of the Proceedings.

National Workshop had the

magnificent fortune of getting

presided over by hon’ble Secretary

and the Correspondent, Alijanab

S.Z. Abrar Ahmed Saheb. The

Valedictory Address delivered by Dr.A.G.Ponniah, former Director, ICAR-

CIBA, Chennai and former Director, ICAR-NBFGR, Lucknow, had been a

scholarly treat on Fish Cell Culture Techniques. Dr.R.Rafi Mohamed, Head,

PG and Research Dept. of Zoology and his Departmental Colleagues had

the distinction of playing a key role in the success of this National

Workshop.

mark in the Inter-Collegiate Quiz Competition organized by VIT University,

Vellore. Petals of encomiums were showered on them by Principal,

One-Day Seminar on

‘Curriculum Design for

Outcome-Based Education’.

The Introductory Speech by

Dr.Syed Khalid Perwez, Professor, VIT Business School, VIT University,

Vellore, kept the ball of Proceedings move at a gentle pace with a

deliberation on ‘Teaching & Learning in 21st Century for OBE’ by

Dr.M.Feroz Khan, Asst. Prof. in Zoology of our college and a lecture on

‘Syllabus Evaluation Reform for OBE’ by Dr.K.Khadharsha, Asst. Prof. in

Zoology on the campus. The outcome of the Seminar had been an

academic boon in the annals of higher education, specifically in the sector

of Outcome-Based Education.

The Aquatic Animal Health

Laboratory headed by

Dr.A.S.Sahul Hameed, had

organized a DBT Funded

National Workshop on

‘Hands on Training on Fish

Cell Culture Techniques: Development and Applications’ for the Sixth

Batch of Trainees. The Inaugural Function had been presided over by

hon’ble Secretary and Correspondent, Alijanab S.Z.Abrar Ahmed Saheb.

Principal, Dr.S.A.Sajid, exhibited the goodwill of spearheading the process

of coming up of this National Workshop. Dr.A.S.Sahul Hameed had been

the chief activating Propellor of this academic exercise. The Inaugural

Address delivered by Dr.A.R.T.Arasu, Former Head and Principal Scientist,

Fish Culture Division, ICAR-Central Institute of Brackishwater Aquaculture,

Chennai, spoke very highly of the Workshop and its necessitated urgency

in popularizing Fish Cell Culture.

who won Gold and Silver

Medals in the University, State and National Events, distinguished College

Committee had the magnanimous goodwill of presenting sum of Rs.1000

to each of the Twelve Member Weight Lifting Team that left the campus

to compete in the National Weight Lifting Tournament at Mohali.

Pathogens. At the function brought up on

the occasion which was presided over by

exemplary Secretary and Correspondent,

Alijanab S.Z.Abrar Ahmed Saheb,

Dr.A.K.Rawat lavished gems of felicitations

on Dr.A.Sait Sahul Hameed for

transforming the OIE Lab into a fabulous mine of Innovations. Principal,

Dr.S.A.Sajid, felt proud of the achievements of the Lab that excelled even

the miracles wrought by Aladdin’s Wonderful Lamp. Dr.R.Rafi Mohamed

won the hearts of the assembly with a catchy Welcome Address and the

Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr.S.Abdul Majeed had been a verbal

rainbow of gratitude.
