Hair Styling Pomade Formula JZ3-49D This formulation makes use of acrylate copolymers for their hair fixative and product thickening properties. A nonoily, nongreasy, and slightly waxy emollient feel is achieved with a balanced blend of soy-derived esters, organomodified silicone and the l ight, dry emollient HallStar® Octyl Isononanoate. HallStar® GMS Pure and RTD™ HC-40 help ensure emulsion stability and assist with product removability, while Glycerin helps retain moisture. Start mixing and add 3 and then 4. Start heating this water phase to 70°C. To a secondary vessel add 5 and 6. Start mixing, heat to 70°C, and then add 7, 8 and 9, in order, to this oil phase. When oil and water phases are both uniform and at 70°C, add the oil phase to the water phase with continued mixing. After ten minutes start slow cooling. When the batch reaches 55°C, add 10 to adjust to pH 5.0 5.8. When the batch is below 50°C add 11. When batch is uniform and at desired filling temperature, stop cooling and mixing and perform final quality assurance checks.
