By directly addressing Woodward Avenue, the bus stop located at the front of the site, street-side walkways, and the raised rail-line walkway, this library invites all residents of Highland Park to participate in communal learning. Therefore, this library fi nesses circulation in order to enhance its functionality as well as symbolically and dynamically unite the under-served community it supports. By creating a highly visible space for shared educational resources, the Highland Park Library attempts to encourage a culture of cooperation and knowledge.

Pendulum Corporation functions in the ambiguous area of an objects personal narrative, either making vivid the real past of the object or constructing a plausible prop to reinforce a personal heritage story (that lacks props). It brings important histories into the realm of daily life by inserting these physical memories as functional objects.
The architecture of the factory itself seeks to obscure and frustrate the spatial experience of a typical factory in order to produce productive ambiguity through the hybridization of industrial and domestic atmospheres. This can inspire novel personal interpretations of the space, thereby injecting new potentials into the factory type. A factory is no longer merely a manufacturer of physical objects, but a believable place to construct the past and catalyze the future.
