EXPERIENCE BYDALEN

Bydalen is located not far from Östersund and Åre in Oviksfjallen. From Östersund / Åre Airport itis only a 45 minutes drive to Bydalen and the flight time from Stockholm is 50 minutes. The directproximity to the wilderness by snowmobile makes By-dalen unique to other Swedish ski resorts.

Tourists started visiting Bydalen over a hundred years ago and Bydalen's Wärdshus was built in1937 as a hotel. This building is now hosting Bydal-en’s popular dining and conference facility witha high end restaurant. Sweden’s first ski school was also founded here in the 1930’s by theAustrian Edmund Birkl, whose son Håkan runs it today.

We will kick off with breakfast and then head off straight into the wilderness. We will break for lunch while enjoy-ing a scenic view of the mountains. Our final stop for the day is Glen, a local Sámi village, where we will stay the night and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Our journey begins in Bydalen with a traditional Sami dinner with elements from the wilderness.We will go through the adventure we are about to experience during the next few days, talk about how to stay safe and try out your clothes.

Off to the wild again trying out ice fishing in private lakes. We will have our lunch outdoors with a great view, before we head back to Bydalen for some “after fishing” and a sauna. During dinner we’ll get a chance to talk about our adventure together.

First breakfast, and then you have time for some ski-ing/snowboarding with a guide, cross countryskiing or perhaps some fishing, it is your choice! We head back to Östersund airport with our minds full of fantastic memories of all the great views and places we’ve visited.
