Objectives

Students will develop and understanding of their environment.

Limited Materials

There were not many technology opportunities so I used a power point on a projector

After teaching about what defines a habitat I asked students to look at pictures and tell me what they saw.

What went well and not so well…

The students all had access to what we were talking about without having to look in a book

This was a new technology opportunity for them

The students loved it!

I wish there had been more opportunity for them to actually use the technology

The placement of the projector made it hard for some kids to see

The students made hand puppets on the wall behind my back

Principles of Effective Technology Integration

Student use of technology wasn’t met due to lack of availability, I as the teacher was mainly in chargeTechnology use for this lesson was essential because I didn’t have any other way to present the picturesBy giving the lesson visually with technology the students could connect to the material instead of the technology focusing on the learning taskThe lesson probably could have been given without the technology but not as effectively and without the same learning.
