The comfort and the Courage Zone

• Your comfort zone represents things you’re familiar with.

• The courage zone, is going out into the world knowing nothing about it, but going anyways.

• There is nothing wrong with enjoying your comfort zone, but you should try and get to the courage zone every once in a while.

Never Let Your Fears Make Your Decisions

• If you let fear rule you, you will accomplish nothing.

• Shakespeare says: “Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the gift we oft might win by fearing to attempt”

• Listen to Shakespeare and try something that you fear, you may find that you like it!

Winning Means Rising Each Time You Fall

• It’s okay to fail!• When you fail you learn so that the next time

you can succeed.• Did you know: Babe Ruth struck out 1,330

times, Albert Einstein couldn’t talk until he was 4, and Beethoven’s music teacher said “As a composer he is hopeless”

• All these people used their mistakes to succeed

Be Strong In the Hard Moments• If you are strong in certain hard moments it will make “all the

difference” down the road in life• Hard moments: Conflict between doing the right thing and

doing the easiest thing• How you handle these moments can shape our forever• Waking up when your alarm rings, controlling your temper, or

doing your homework are small hard moments• Hard moments are things like choosing the right friends,

resisting negative peer pressure, and rebounding after a major setback

Overcoming Peer Pressure

• Some of the hardest moments in life come when facing peer pressure

• Sometimes peer pressure is so strong the only way to get rid of it is to remove yourself from the environment you’re in

• To overcome it you have to care more about what you think than anyone else

• Peer pressure is hard to resist because the inside of you just wants to be the same

The Common Ingredient of Success

• Putting first things first takes discipline.• Albert E. Gray “All successful people have the

habit of doing the things failures don’t like to do. They don’t like doing them either, necessarily. But their disliking is subordinated to the strength of their purpose.”

• You need willpower to get things done
