Physical DE~scription, continued Christopher's Camp HA - 937
Balulsters are turned and treads are pine. Upstairs, the open string stair has simple brackets. A door on the west wall of the first floor leads to the cellar. It is under the slant of the second run of the stair. This slant is paneled.
The west room is magnificently paneled. Its west wall has a fireplace in its center flanked by built in closets. A stepped cornice meets the ceiling on the west w:i.11.
The east room may have, at one time, been two rooms. At present the room has an arch consisting of one single beaded wood board extending east-west. A moulded wood panel closet is on the east wall next to a brick lined fireplace no longer in use.
Upstairs, there are three rooms on the second floor as well as the hall. The hall has chair rails. A beaded board door leads to the attic. Miss Michael told us that school was taught in this section's attic. In the attic, the ceiling is plastered and floors are wide, pegged board. Doors in this section have iron box locks with wood knobs. Door frames in this section have symmetrically moulded trim with corner blocks. These frames are pegged.
Section two's interior has a newer floor with even pine boards. A brick lined fire1olace is located on the east wall. It has a fairly plain mantle and archi tra 1re.
The most recent addition to this house is the two and one half story frame section on the north of section two: Miss Michael informed us that this part was added soon after the Warden family moved in. This was probably 1865. This section is bevel frame with low stone foundations. The roof has wide eaves and a box cornice. There are two gable front dormers on the west side of the roof as well as on the east side. Windows in this section are six lights over six, having standard size panes. The west facade's first elevation is laid out as follows: W - W - w - D. The door has a three light transom. On the east a shed and an enclosed porch mask much of the details. See floor plan.
Outbuildings on this farm consisted of two red vertical board barns and a cinder-block construction.
