Transcript of gymnastics
It is an Olympic sport made up of several activities. It has three main sections:
› ARTISTIC (with different activities for men and women)
› RHYTHMIC (only for women)› TRAMPOLINE
The gymnasts must get the highest score based on judges in all the activities.
MEN´S CONSISTS IN SIX DIFFERENT ACTIVITIES:› Floor exercises› Pommel› Rings› Vault› Parallel bars› High bar
•WOMEN´S CONSISTS IN FOUR ACTIVITIES:
-Floor exercises-Vault-Asymmetric Bars-Balance Beam
This event is only for women. Can be performed in teams or alone.
It is a dance routine to music while holding an object such as club, a rope, a hoop, a ribbon or a ball.
We only are going to practise just ARTISTIC GYMNASTICS
The FLOOR EXERCISES we will do are:› FORWARD ROLL› BACKWARD ROLL› CARTWHEEL› BRIDGE› SHOULDERSTAND› ELBOWSTAND› HANDSTAND
Start in a squat, put your chin to your chest, roll over your“rounded” back, do not use your hands to stand up.
Squat down, put your chin to your chest, roll backwards, take both feet to one side and bend your neck.
1. Same position at the beginning and at the end.2. Start with your hands up and feet apart. Bend to one side and put one hand down and then the next hand in the same line. 3. You will be upside down with your legs open. 4. Then put one foot down and the next foot, in the same line as before.
1. Lay down on your back, pull up your whole body and hold your waist with both hands.
2. Hold the position with high tension in your muscles
1. Bend down. Keep your hips up and look straight ahead of you. Be sure that both legs are straight .2. Put both of your elbows on the floor. Put one palm on top of the other one.3. Kick up with the legs. Remember to keep your legs straight.
1. Lock your elbows, put both hands on the floor and with one leg straight, thrust it up.
2. Try to get both legs straight over your head
1. Lie on the floor. 2. Put your arms over your head
and your hands on the floor.3. Keep your knees bent and push
your armsand legs straight until your back is curved.
Be careful with your back…You must warm up very well before doing this exercise.
