Also present on this occasion were Mr G V Sanjay Reddy, Vice Chairman GVK, Mr R. K. Jain, CEO GVK MIAL, Mr Krishna R Bhupal, Director GVK PIL, Mr G V Keshav Reddy, Mr Vinod Hiran, EVP Finance, MIAL and other senior functionaries of CIDCO. Dr GVK Reddy said on the occasion, “ We are delighted that GVK has got the opportunity to yet again display it’s technical and managerial prowess in the Airport sector after having created the award winning Mumbai airport, for developing and managing the Navi Mumbai International Airport. With the continued support of the Central government, the Maharashtra government, CIDCO and all our stakeholders, we are confident of creating and delivering the much needed second airport for the twin cities of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai.” CIDCO, the nodal agency of the Government of Maharashtra for the Navi Mumbai International Airport had given the Letter of Award (LOA) on 25 October 2017 to Mr R. K. Jain, CEO GVK MIAL. Earlier In February 2017, GVK MIAL was declared the winning bidder for the Greenfield airport that will be built on 1,160 hectares in a Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode with CIDCO. GVK MIAL will hold a 74 per cent stake while the remaining 26 per cent will be with CIDCO. The initial concession period is 30 years from the appointed date which is extendable for a further 10 years.

It was a momentous occasion for all of us at GVK MIAL on the 8th of January, 2018 when Dr GVK Reddy, our Founder and Chairman signed the Concession Agreement for the Navi Mumbai International Airport project along with Mr Bhushan Gagrani, Vice Chairman & MD of CIDCO, in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr Devendra Fadnavis. Also present on this occasion were Mr G V Sanjay Reddy, Vice Chairman GVK, Mr R. K. GVK CSIA welcomes Air Deccan GVK CSIA gave a warm welcome to Air Deccan, which began its operations from Mumbai to Jalgaon on 23 December, 2017. The low cost airline, Air Deccan started its operations under the regional connectivity scheme - UDAN, which was initiated by the Government of India. A lamp lighting ceremony was organized by the commercial team of GVK CSIA and all the dignitaries and passengers lit the lamp before boarding the first inaugural flight of Air Deccan. These low cost services will help the flyers who want to travel within the state of Maharashtra and nearby places.

GVK CSIA hosts first cargo flight from Kabul

It was a historic moment for GVK CSIA when they hosted the first cargo flight from Kabul, Afghanistan which was carrying perishables. The Cargo team of GVK CSIA welcomed all the representatives from Government of Maharashtra and the Afghan

delegation at the airport. The cargo flight was inaugurated to provide a dedicated air freight corridor between Mumbai and Kabul and to provide Afghanistan access to the markets of Maharashtra. The Kabul-Mumbai-Kabul inbound flight carried 40 tonnes of

fresh apples, and on the outbound journey, it carried 20 tonnes of bananas along with 20 tonnes of fresh tomatoes.

GVK CSIA hosts 35 Officers from DSSC

Team Quality and Customer care at GVK CSIA hosted 35 officers from the Defence Services Staff College and organized a half-day session for them about the airport which was followed by a round of the Terminal and a specially curated walkthrough safari of the GVK Jaya He New Museum to experience and feel the cultural essence of India through its incredible art pieces. The officers appreciated the Airport design and operations team at CSIA and enjoyed the hospitality. They were also quite excited to see our unique art program ‘Jaya He’.

This year Gautami conducted a week long ‘Road Safety Campaign for 2018’ at the plant site for all the employees and outsourced workers. Road safety oath was taken by all employees of GVK’s Gautami CCPP along with Mr P. Venkata Ravi Ram, plant head on 8 January, 2018. A training program was conducted to make them aware of the different safety rules and regulations as a part of the campaign on 11th and 12th January, 2018 respectively.

Jegurupadu CCPP organized a Road Safety Week campaign from 8th to 14th January, 2018 for all the employees and contractual staff in the plant premises. A special badge carrying the safety message was distributed to all the employees which they had to wear at the workplace during the week. Banners were displayed at important locations in the entire premises and outside the plant. A session was also organized along with the safety oath ceremony for the employees to motivate them about the various road safety practices.

Goindwal Sahib TPP organized Safety Quiz Competition for Agency Personnel at O & M Hall of the plant site on 17 January, 2018 to create an awareness about all the safety practices at work and strengthen safety movement. Mr Vikas Chandra

Shukla, plant head and Mr B C Ghosh, operations head of plant quizzed the participants of 6 different teams on five topics like General Safety, Unsafe Condition, Practices Visuals, Cautionary Signages along with True & False Rapid Fire Questions.

Lohri Celebrations

GVK’s Goindwal Sahib TPP generated around 100 Million Units of electricity during the month of January‘2018 from

both the units. The Power Plant is a 540 MW (2X270 MW) thermal power project located near Goindwal Sahib

Village, District Tarn Taran in the state of Punjab.

Internal Training at Jegurupadu CCPPJegurupadu CCPP conducted an internal training programme on ‘Chlorine Emergency’ for the employees to train them about any Chlorine Emergency so that they could take preventive measures at the time of any chemical leakage emergency in the plant. Mr B Murali Krishna, Deputy Manager, Chemistry conducted the training. A detailed presentation with various safety practices were presented by the senior executives in the conference room of the plant.

Shrinagar HEP generates over 3754 million units of Electricity

The GVK Alaknanda Hydro Power Company Ltd has generated and transmitted over 3754 million units of electricity till 31st January, 2018 since it commenced

operations in April 2015.

Deoli Kota Expressway conducted Swachhata Pakhwada Programs from 16th to 26th January, 2018 at NH-52 near toll plaza to create awareness as well as to clean the nearby areas of the toll plaza and tunnel area. All the employees of the toll plaza participated in the drive and cleaned the road, ODF Toll Plaza and also planted saplings for a green environment. A Workshop was also conducted for the toll collectors. Pamphlets were distributed and various display

signages were also installed to create awareness.

Jaipur-Kishangarh Expressway inaugurated different awareness activities as part of Swachh Bharat Pakhwada program for the employees, nearby people and commuters from the toll from 16th to 31st January, 2018 at the toll Plaza. Banners with different messages were displayed at major points at highway of the toll road and pamphlets were distributed to the people. An oath ceremony was also conducted along with cleanliness drive at various locations, toll area and nearby places during this program.

Kite flying competition

Sankranti Celebrations

Taj Banjara hosted Makar Sankranti celebrations at the hotel premises to make the festive occasion more joyful and to make this festivity so special for all the employees and Senior Executives. The team had arranged an elaborate lunch buffet with delicious dishes from Telangana cuisine in the associate dining hall to celebrate this festival. The venue was beautifully decorated with flowers and coconut leaves to give the traditional feel and make the ambience more vibrant.

A new year sure is incomplete without the kind act of giving. All the phenomenal team of chefs of Taj Krishna, Taj Deccan and Taj Banjara came together under the brand Taj Group for a noble cause and visited the Pawmen Cap institute who worked for the specially abled people in Hyderabad as a part of New Year celebrations. All the chefs from the three hotels served

multi-cuisine and varieties of dishes for lunch to the special children of Pawmen Cap. All the volunteers from the three hotels also joined for this noble cause and motivated the children by doing meaningful conversation with them. All the children were

excited and felt amazed after this sweet gesture from all the team members and volunteers of Taj.

Mr Rajesh from the Security Team was adjudged as the winner and his effervescent smile showed his excitement about his achievement and made this competition more joyful.

2nd Anniversary celebrations

Team Taj Santacruz, Mumbai celebrated their 2nd Anniversary on 16 January, 2018 with joy and enthusiasm along with all the HODs, Senior Executives and the employees. General Manager, Mr Pankaj Sampat cut the cake along with employees and thanked all for their incredible efforts and services. The F&B team of Taj Santacruz served a special multi cuisine Lunch and Dinner at the Grand Ballroom of the hotel premises. GVK EMRI Uttar Pradesh ambulance staff assists around 90 K deliveries

GVK ONE bagged the ‘Best Food Court Award –South India’ at the IMAGES Golden Spoon Awards 2018 under the Food Service Awards category held in Mumbai on 18 January, 2018. The GVK ONE mall won the award on the basis of excellence in various parameters and mix of cuisine, growth and innovation, customer service, food service quality and hygiene and also for providing a one stop solution of multi-cuisine dining experience to the people of Hyderabad city. The award was received by Mr Gerald Mathew, Assistant General Manager-Marketing and Mr Amol Savale, Sr Manager- Retail of the GVK ONE mall.

GVK EMRI Uttar Pradesh assisted around 90,000 deliveries in the ambulances while on their way to the hospital or at the caller’s house in the state with the help of dedicated life savior of 102 and 108. The women and newborns were admitted to the nearby hospital after deliveries in the ambulances. They handled a maximum 3,216 deliveries in Hardoi district between 2012 and 2017 and a minimum of 342 deliveries in Mau district in the state. Hon’ble CM Shri Yogi Adityanath launched the fleet of 150 Advanced Life Saving ambulances in Uttar Pradesh on 13th April, 2017 last year to improve the services in the state. GVK EMRI runs more than 2000 Janani Shishu Suraksha Ambulances (Mother & Child), a specially designed ambulance to care the pregnant women and the ambulances are technologically advanced vehicles that were fully equipped with all requirements to handle deliveries in the state.

GVK EMRI Tamil Nadu prepared for New Year Eve to meet any emergencies and placed the ambulances at strategic locations in the state where maximum crowds were expected from 30 December, 2017 to 2 January, 2018. Dr. C. Vijayabaskar, Hon’ble Minister for Health and Family welfare along with Dr. Darez Ahmed, IAS, Mission Director of the National Health Mission, Mrs. Uma Maheswari, IAS, Project Director, TNHSP, Dr. Inbasekaran, Deputy Director, DMS, Dr. Kamatchi, Strategic and Planning, TNHSP and Smt. S. Shoba, Additional Director TNHSP visited the facility to review our preparedness on the eve of New Year. All the dignitaries monitored the live moments of ambulance service across the state with GPS tracking system and appreciated the services and alertness.

Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Mr K Chandrashekhar Rao launched the Drop back 102 maternal ambulances service to pick up and drop women before and after delivery with their neonates from their homes and hospitals. The ambulance service will also be used to transport women with high risk pregnancies under this programme. ‘Project Rekkalu’ or two-wheeler vehicle scheme for auxiliary nursing midwives was also launched to providing mobility support to women, Multipurpose Healthcare Assistants (MPHA) who take up field visits. The Chief Minister also flagged-off 50 bike ambulances at People’s Plaza. The bike ambulances will be managed by a trained Emergency Medical Technician.

the Indian calendar. Organized by Uttar Pradesh Tourism, this festival pays respect to the matchless cultural heritage of the state and the country as a whole. The visitors get to see a variety of art-forms from classical to folk, subtle

classical to popular film songs etc.

Shivaji Jayanti or the birthday of Shivaji Maharaj is widely celebrated in Maharashtra. His parents Jijabai and Shahaji Bhonsle

named him Shivaji after the local Goddess Shivai. He was the creator of the Maratha nation and was instrumental in uniting the Maratha chiefs of Maval, Konkan and Desh regions. He is remembered for his military prowess and civil administration.
