This program, led by John Maietta, will chart the dramatic history of the canal-building effort, spotlight the colorful characters who led it, and bring listeners right up to the present day. The history of the canal is ongoing: the recent completion of a new set of locks guarantees another century of service from "The Big Dig."

Thursday, April 12 at 6pm in the Teen Library

Presented by CollegeAdmissionsHQ, you will learn: how colleges build financial aid packages; understand how College Financial Aid is not an isolated system; and get the college admissions process right. Call the Teen Dept. to register.

Saturday, April 7 from 1pm—3pm

Carol Joyce will be leading a writing workshop to encourage others to organize and record stories that would otherwise be lost forever. Tickets are $20.00 for patrons and $15.00 for Friends of the Library. Registration required.

Wednesday, April 11 at 6:30pm in the John & Joan Bare Center

Jim & Suzanne Gindlesperger will be giving a presentation adapted from their award-winning books, So You Think You Know Gettysburg? The program will explore human interest stories associated with sites and monuments in Gettysburg. Some are heroic, some sad, some humorous — but all are interesting.
