Port Blair, Dec 13 Continuing its efforts of enforcing various provisions of Legal Metrology Act, 2009, under the supervision of Director (CS&CA), the Enforcement Team of Directorate of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs made a surprise inspection at Tillai Bakery situated at Aberdeen Bazaar & S-MART situated at Phoenix Bay, Port Blair on Dec 12, 2019. During the course of inspection it was found that many provisions of Packaged Commodities Rule framed under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 were violated and accordingly 5 samples & 27 samples of each product were seized on the spot respectively. Enforcement Team of Deptt. of CS&CA conducts raid at Tillai Bakery & S-Mart; books cases under Legal Metrology Act The shopkeepers have violated various provisions contained in the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 by selling the packed commodities without complete declaration as mandated. Minister of State for Social Justice & Empowerment Shri Krishan Pal Gurjar to visit A&N Islands Port Blair, Dec 13 The Andaman Public Works Department (APWD) has finalized the Master Plan for Port Blair Planning/Development Area (PBPA) which consists of present Port Blair town and 26 revenue villages around it and notified in the Gazette vide No. 35 dated 01/03/2012. Recently, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has suggested for amending the Master Plan related to Solid Waste Processing and Disposal facilities as per the Rule-11 (e) & 11 (h) of Municipal Solid Waste Management Rules, 2016, in the interest of general public and others. Accordingly, an amendment proposal has been worked out within the ambit of the provisions of Section-9 of Andaman & Nicobar Islands Town & Country Planning Regulation, 1994. The amendment contemplated on the Master Plan has been made under the provisions of Sub-Rule 4 & 5 of Rule-3 of Andaman & Nicobar Town & Country Planning Rules, 2005 in Form-III and published in the Daily Telegrams and other newspapers circulated in the Planning/Development Area.
