Recently school life has been so busy and the three day weekend came at just the right time. With only four weeks of school left this term, there are still many exciting events and activities planned before this term is over and I know all at Gundagai Public School will continue to embrace these opportunities being offered both in the school grounds and out in the wider community with enthusiasm. Our very best wishes are extended to Clarity Glazebrook, Halle Smart, James Bartlett and Bailey Piper who will travel to Murrumburrah Public School next Tuesday to take part in 2 debates against other schools. This is the first year Gundagai Public School has entered this competition. Towards the end of last term 8 students with talent in this area took part in a one day workshop at Turvey Park Public School. Since then these 8 students have fine-tuned their skills through a number of in school debates and from there the formable Gundagai Debating Team for 2019 was chosen. These 4 students have worked very hard with team coach Mrs Wheaton and have developed into a sophisticated team that our school can be proud of. Many of our students continue to show dedication to the Premiers Reading Challenge. A reminder that the challenge is continuing into next term with the completion date being: Friday 30 August We are very proud of Chase Polsen, Maya Morris, Jacob Smart, Mia Mitchell, Torri Moy, Dane Smart, Kaylee Rose, Xanthe Shannon, Nate Mooney, Maxs Elphick, Connor West, Cooper Smith, Ruby Turner, Eadyn Lindley, Evie Jones, Cooper Bartlett, Gilbert Crane, Riley Elliott, James Bartlett, Holly Deckers, Jorja Lenehan and Cayden Coulton-Wescombe who have already completed the challenge and will have their photo placed on the 2019 Reading Challenge Wall of Fame. AFL Our AFL program held each Tuesday is being very well received. Development Officer Ben Walsh

is highly complementary of our students sporting ability, enthusiasm and attitude to try something new. A grant secured from Sporting Schools has enabled us to deliver this 4 week program free to all our students from K to 6 and forms part of our P.E program for the term.

These sessions also count towards physical activity hours all students are accumulating as they participate in the popular Premiers Sporting Challenge. Students at Gundagai Public are very much encouraged to adopt an active and healthy life style
