Since time immemorial Diu has rightly personified this emotion. Just a walk through the coastal enclave promises you limitless peace. Explorers have been known to travel far and wide for a break off the beaten path and in search of peace. This soulful destination is 67 kms from Gir, 90 kms from Somnath, a quick flight away from Mumbai and a short road trip away from Ahmedabad. Walk in and soak in the experience as time stops still.

Daman or Damao, a Union Territory was a Portuguese enclave for four centuries and a half till the close of the colonial rule in 1961. The first Portuguese Captain Diogo de Mello, while on his way to Ormuz, met with a violent cyclone and when all hopes were lost, suddenly found himself at the Daman coast. Daman was the battleground to oust the Portuguese and had witnessed many a wars waged against the alien powers. It had been a melting pot where races and cultures met and mixed to bring forth a multicoloured identity. This paradise of peace, solitude and contentment with its coastline about 12.5 km along the Arabian sea (the Gulf of Khambhat) was once known as Kalana Pavri or Lotus of Marshlands. A laid back little town, Daman is divided by the Damanganga river. Nani Daman (or Little Daman) in the north and Moti Daman (or Big Daman) in the south which retains something of the Portuguese atmosphere in its Government buildings and churches of colonial origins enclosed within an imposing wall.

• Day 3: JAMNAGAR – DWARKA (150 KMS / 3 Hours)After breakfast check out from the hotel and drive to Dwarka. Upon arrival check in & free till lunch and later on visit Bet Dwarka – Nageshwar Jyotirlingas – Gopi Talav – Rukhmani Temple. Overnight stay.

• Day 4: DWARKA – SOMNATH (240 Kms/5 hrs)After breakfast check from the hotel & drive to Somnath. En-route visits of Porbandar – Kirti Mandir, Sudama Temple… Later continued drive Somnath, Visits Famous Somnath Temple, and Bhalka Tirth. Overnight Stay.

• Day 5: SOMNATH – GIR (50 Kms/1 ½ hrs)After breakfast drive to Gir. Afternoon enjoy the Safari to National Park. Overnight Stay.

• Day 6: GIR – DAMAN & DIU (110 Kms/ 2 hrs)After breakfast drive to Diu. Evening leisure at Beach. Overnight stay.
