GUITARS OVER GUNS ORGANIZATION (GOGO)is an arts-based youth development program that trains professional musicians to empower youth in underprivileged communities to reach their full potential through the transformative power of music and mentorship

The program model is based on three pillars –

– and engages students through the popular music they are most interested in.

Through GOGO’s unique and structured program, mentors create a nurturing and consistent environment to help their students develop the skills they need to be successful on stage and in the studio as well as in the classroom and in life.

Students learn to write and perform their own music and videos, and gain exposure to major artists, engineers, and producers.

Graduates have been reintegrated into music programs, accepted into performing arts high schools, and have received scholarships to Berklee College of Music.

Guitars Over Guns has pioneered a new model for effective arts-based youth development.
