Call 5 Project Outline Preparation DaysGoals

The 2-day event will enable you to:

1. Learn and discuss about new project ideas, via The online networking tools, including the project idea tool, partner search and message board A poster session Parallel project idea pitch sessions Workgroup sessions

2. Meet with participants from all over the world to define potential projects and form initial project consortia

3. Receive general information about ITEA and the Call process

Project idea pitches In large parallel groups: - present project idea in max 5 min (‘elevator pitch’)- check interest and identify possible clustering of project ideas

Group discussions Start discussions in smaller workgroups to form the rough Project Outline and consortium - 1 hour before plenary session finalise plenary presentation

Plenary session Presentations of the first rough project outlines- use the ‘Project Idea’ template (USB)- max. 5 minutes per project idea

End of Day 1 Update your project idea status:- in the online project idea tool must be done by the project idea leader - ITEA staff can assist)

- on the note poster next to your project idea poster

GuidelinesGroup Discussions

Ensure there is a discussion leader (e.g. an experienced ITEA participant):- Take care of overall timing; stop non-relevant or too detailed discussions- Take care that key messages of the discussion participants are heard

Discussion:- Make an inventory of project ideas, technologies and organisations- Identify and focus on the specific problem that you want to solve: If known, use the needs expressed by real customers (see the reports of customer workshops) Identify the possible solution(s) and required technologies & expertise

- Identify the market value chain and the technical value chain: Position different interested partners and identify which organisations have a real added value Identify which organisations are still missing

Wrap-up:- Define follow-up actions- Assign a contact person and presenter per cluster- Complete ‘Project Idea’ template (USB) per cluster and deliver it to

Clearly indicate your project idea number(s) using the signage posts, flip charts, etc.

Indicate your positioning on your ‘Notes’ poster and put a comment beneath your project idea online

Room allocation / group positioning will be displayed on the displays (e.g. at the registration desk) and on the PO Days webpage
