GUIDELINES FOR THE CHRDPE VOLUNTEER CORPSAugust 09, 2010
1. REQUIREMENTS FOR VOLUNTEERS
a. Must be student, faculty or personnel of the universityb. Understand and willing to promote the CHRDPE Volunteer Corps Mission
without financial remuneration.c. Be in good physical and mental healthd. Complete a volunteer application form (CHRDPE VolCorps Form 01)e. Received basic CHRDPE Volunteer Corps orientation
2. RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Complete and submit to the CHRDPE the Volunteer Corps MembersProfile (CHRDPE VolCorps Form 02) and sign the Volunteers
Pledge every semester.b. Complete at least 2 of the Volunteer Corps Curriculum (excluding the
basic orientation).c. Report to the CHDPE and earn an average of4 hours* of service every
week. Volunteers are required to sign in at the office when they reportfor service and sign out when they leave
d. Actively participate in all CHRDPE programs and activities. Punctual andreliable during CHDPE events.
e. Be willing to offer supportive and supplemental service undersupervision and direction of the CHRDPE Director and staff.
f. Become familiar with UNP and CHRDPE policies and practices. Capable
of adjusting to the CHRDPEs way of doing things.g. Be willing to have short conferences, periodically, with the CHRDPE
Director, staff, college coordinator, and/or group leader.h. Inform the CHRDPE director, staff, group leader and/or college
coordinator if you are unable to attend to activities or report to yourspecified time.
*based on a US-based research that volunteers average 3.6 hours of service everyweek
3. CLASSIFICATION AND EVALUATION OF VOLUNTEERS
a. A probationary period will be given to all volunteers. Individuals will beunder probation for the whole semester they applied for asvolunteers.
b. Volunteers shall be classified accordingly:i. Probationary those who are under probation and undergoing
familiarization with the functions and duties of a CHRDPEvolunteer.

ii. Full time those who have passed the probationary period,completed at least 2 items in the VolCorps curriculum, meet theminimum weekly service hours and regularly attends CHRDPEactivities.
iii. Inactive those who have passed the probationary period but fallshort of the requirements to become full time volunteers.
c. The CHRDPE together with the college coordinators and group leaderswill regularly evaluate the performance of individual volunteers. Thosewho fall short of their responsibilities shall be given a reminder threetimes. If the individual does not respond to the third reminder he/shewill be drop from the list of volunteers.
d. Recipients of the CHRDPE Volunteer Corps certificate will be determinedthrough performance evaluation of duties and responsibilities.
4. OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS
a. Membership with the Volunteer Corps is on individual basis.
Organizations cannot and will not compel their members to join theVolunteer Corps.b. Volunteers shall not have taken illegal drugs. They are not allowed to
smoke or consume alcoholic beverages during their time of service.c. Volunteers are accountable for and subject to the same policies
and procedures of the CHRDPE that apply to the staff of the center.However, they will always present themselves as volunteers of thecenter and not as official representative.
d. Keep Information Confidential. Please be aware that informationwhich you may hear, see, or otherwise acquire while at the CHRDPEoffice, activities and volunteer corps meetings is to be considered
privileged information and is to be kept within the members andCHRDPE personnel.
