Admissio n guideline s Summe r 19 (English) - F & G Applications for admision to MS and PhD Programs under course-credit system in the following subjects are invited for Summer 2019 Term . Duration of MS program is usually 5 (five) terms and that of PhD program is usually 9 (nine) terms (each term includes 12 weeks and each year consists of 3 terms). 1. Subject MS Program: Agr icultural Extension & Rural Development ; Agroforestry & Environment; Irigation & Water Management ; Agro-Procesing; Agronomy; Biotechnology; Crop Botany ; Environmental Science; Entomology ; Genetics & Pl ant Breeding ; Horticulture; Plant Pathology; Soil Science; Seed Science & Technology ; Aquaculture ; Fisheries Biology & Aquatic Environment ; Fisheries Technology; Fisheries Management ; Genetics & Fish Breeding ; Animal Nutrition ; Dairy Science ; Poultry Scie n ce ; Theriogenology; Pathology ; Agricultural Economics. Eligibility and selecti on proced u re MS Program a ) Candidates for a d mision to MS Program must have a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural discipline or DVM from BSMRAU with a minimum GPA 3.00 (out of 4.00)or an equivalent degree with a minimum GPA 3 . 00 (out of 4. 00) or second clas from a recognized university or institution . b) Candidates wi ll b e selected on the basis of GPA/number obtained in SSC, HSC and BS level examinations. T he selection of candidates will be made in order of merit based on l 00 points out of which 60 po in t s for BS/BSc , 20 points for HSC and 20 points for SSC. Applicants with d egree(s) in course credit/g rad ing system should secure at least 70 points · and candidates with deg r ee(s) under number s ystem s h ould secure at least 65 points. c ) In-service ca n d id ates having degree in grading system must secure at least 65 points and th ose having degree under n um ber system must secure at least 60 points. In-service c andid ates (ser vin g in govt. , semi-govt. or a ut o n omous organization) holding scholarship from any organiz ati o n a n d h aving degree in course cre dit/ grading system must have at least 60 points and those hav in g deg r e e in number system shou ld ha ve 55 points . d) A candidate ma y g ive option for 3 (three) d epartments in order of prefere n ce o n ly. e) In-service ca ndid ates must atach a deputation order / evidence of deputation with t h e a ppli cation form from his emp l oye r for the period of course a n d research works . PlrD Program a) Only the in-se r vice candidates are eligible to apply. b) Candidates for admision to P hD P ro gr a m mu st have a Master of Science degree from BSMRAU with a minimum GPA 3.00 (out of 4.00)or an equivalent degree with a minimum GPA 3 . 00 (out of 4. 00) or second clas from a recognized u niversity or institution . c) Candidat e s from recognized non-govt. organizations/NGOs must have service experience of at least 2 ye a r s. d) A candidate may give option for 3 (three) departments in order of preference only . e) Selection of candidate will be made on the basis of GPA/number obtai n ed in SSC, HSC, Bachelor and Masters degrees . Candidates will be selected in accordance with merit based on I 00 points of which 35 points for Bachelor and 35 points for Masters degrees (Total 70 points) and 15 points for SSC and l 5 points for HSC examinations (Total 30 points). Degree holders in course credit/grading system should have at least 70 points and in number system at least 60 points for their eligibility to get admision . In case of in-service candidates working in Govt./semi Govt. or ganizations or autonomous bodies holding scholarship and having degree in course credit/grading system must have at least 65 points and those having degree in number system must have at least 55 points . f) A leter of clearance or deputation order for the period of course and research work must be atached with the application. 2. Eligibility and selection procedure MS Program

Catalogue /Prospec tus. 11. Applicatio n form m ust be su b mitte d in th e office of the Dean , Faculty of Gradu ate Studie s on or before

18/03/2019 during office time. 111. List of the se lecte d candidates will be p ub lished in the notice board of a c a demic s e ction of BSMRAU

on 20/03/2019 and admission will be held o n 21/03/2019 iv. Prior to admi s s io n the selected candidate shall deposit required fee in the So na Ii B an k Ltd . of BSMRAU

branch . v. Course enro lment should be furnished at the time of admission. Orientatio n of t he a dmitte d stude n t will

be held on 24/03/2019 (morning) and classes will also be he l d o n 24/03/2019. vr. The admissio n of a student shall a u toma t ica ll y b e cancelle d if he /she fai l s to atten d t h e cl asses within

the first 14 (fourteen) days of the term of a d mission. v11. E ach student must reside in hall du r ing study period . R ules regardi n g th e h a ll m ay b e fou nd from the

provost office . v111. S tud e nt s e nr o lled in ac ademic program (MS & PhD) of BSMRAU must not be involved in regular

academic program of an y other university /institution. ix. Merit scholarships will be awarded based on d e p art m enta l merit to all Ph D stude n ts @ Tk 5,000/- (Five

thousand) per month and considerable number of MS st u dents @ Tk 2,000/- (Two tho u sand) per month in each term . Besides merit scho l arship , there is a pro vis ion for Gra du ate R esearc h Assistantship (GRA) for the qualified Bangladeshi/Fo r eign st u de n ts pur sui n g PhD d eg r ee on co m petitive b asis .

4. Attested copy of certifi c a tes/ document s t o be submitted alon g w ith the a ppli ca tion.

* Two copies of recent passpo rt size photogr a p h .

* Certificate & mark sheet/transcr ipt of SSC, HSC, Bac h elor & Maste r s degree (For PhD Program ).

* Photocop y of National ID card for Bangladeshi students and photocopy of passport for fo r e ig n s tu dents.

* Testimonial from the head of the institute last attended.

* Receipt for deposited money.

* Attested photoco p y of other essential documents.

* Illegible , in com plet e and incorrec t app lication, and received after t h = scheduled date and time shall

directly be ca n ce ll ed .

5. Original cert ificates mu st b e s ho w n at th e tim e o f a dmi ssio n . Original certifica te s of the doc um e n ts s u bm itted along w ith the app lication form must be produced at the

time of admissi on .

b) Foreign st ud e n ts may d eposit USO 20 (Twenty Dollar) in account No. SN D 0219636000036 Sonali Bank Ltd. , BSMRAU branch through SWIFT CODE Ro u ting No . 200330370 and evide n ce of money deposit must be attached a long with the du l y filled in application form which should be submitted in the office of the Dean , Faculty of Graduate Studies within specified time .

3. Pay m e n t a) Following advertisement for admission a candidate may co ll ect application form , guide lines for

admission and a graduate catalogue from academic section of t he unive r sity during office time . Application form may also be downloaded from university we b s ite www .bsmrau.edu.bd . Application for m duly filled in should be submitted to the office of t h e Dean , Fac ul ty of Graduate Studies within the specified time a long w ith a bank receipt of TK 500/- (Five h undred Taka) deposited in account No. SND-0219636000036 of Sonali Bank Ltd., BSMRAU branch , Gazipur from any branch of Sonali Bank Limited.
