Youth ages 4-18 get to experience what it is like to be a vendor and sell their own art, many for the very first time. Visit throughout the evening for live performances by local youth artists. 2 6 PM | Framin’ ArtWorks (505 High St) Jo Dunnick shows “At The Heart Of It All... Love And Connection.” She states, “The paintings I am including are important to me because they represent everything that I hold dear. With so many distractions pulling us in different directions, it can be challenging to remember that love and connection bring us joy and sustain us.” 3 6:30 PM | OUT ON A LIMB Gallery (191 E Broadway) Patti McNutt exhibits acrylic and ink or charcoal paintings done “en Plein Air” (outside) from Bandon to Cape Arago. These pieces were created during a yearly coastal gathering, which was started by Nelson Sandgren 40+ years ago and is carried on by his son Erik. 4 7 PM | West Park Street Block (8th and Oak) ArtCity Eugene and the City of Eugene Cultural Services “Light Up the Night” with a showcase of multidisciplinary arts that use light and/or film in the darkness of nightfall. Featured pieces include a projected light installation by Pipeworks Studios, lighted sculptures by Hana Behrs & John Van Strien, Cari Ingrassia & Terry Holloway, and Jill Mulholland (right), music by David Placencia (who unveils the latest Playable Public Art Piano) and Nathan Asman (who shares his digital light and color instrument “Curve”), and short films by Robert Uehlin, John Watson, and Barbara Counsil. 5 7:30 PM | Broadway Commerce Center (44 W Broadway) Eric Gunderson (left) shows paintings and drawings in “Fire and Ice - Landscapes of a Changing Planet.” Like the Robert Frost poem “Fire and Ice,” this exhibit asks us to more deeply understand our world and ourselves. Also, check out ReJEWEL, a jewelry resale show benefitting the orphaned and HIV+ children supported by Makindu Children’s Program. Community Judges Fred Crafts, Bob Hart, Nicole Trobaugh, and Mary Birckhead will present the artist awards, and the public can start their bidding! Bids will be taken at Oregon Wine Lab and through an online auction website through the 20th. All proceeds from the auction support the Shelton McMurphey Johnson House. 5:30-9pm. 32 No Shame Eugene (99 W 10th Ave) The doors open at 7:30pm with live music. The show begins at 8pm with fifteen original, 5-minute acts including monologues, sketch comedy, and the experimental. Each show is comprised of the first fifteen acts to register with the host when doors open - come as a performer, or no shame in just watching! (411 West 4th Ave) “Diverse Universe,” a group show of smaller pieces by J.S. Bird, Robert Canaga, Patricia Carroll, Lisa Lavoni, Diane Lewis, Jacqueline Lukowski, Bess Nobel, and Sadie Smith in a variety of mediums, including oil, pastel, acrylic, oil and wax, watercolor, collage, and acrylic on paper.
