Scott Antique Market in AtlantaThe Scott Antique Market at the Atlanta Expo Centers, the world’s largest monthly indoor

antique show, features two buildings stocked full of pretty much every antique imaginable. With366,000 square feet to explore, and over 3,500 booths,outdoor shopping, and a courtyard of merchandise, it’salmost impossible to leave without finding exactly whatyou’re looking for, according to the show’s organizers. Allthings antique wind up at the Scott Antique Market–antique furniture, vintage hardware, rare art, stunningglassware, heirloom silver, incredible jewelry, and more.

The Scott Antique Market, described as “America’sfavorite treasure hunt,” always takes place the secondweekend of every month at the Atlanta Expo Centerswhich straddle I-285 at Exit 55. Parking is free; admissionis only $5; and a complimentary shuttle goes between both buildings. Show hours are Thursdays12:45-6pm, Fridays & Saturdays 9am-6pm, and Sundays 10am-4pm.

METRO ATLANTAVisits from Santa to S.E. Railway Museum in DuluthSanta will arrive at the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth on Saturday, Nov. 15, at

1pm. There will be refreshments and photos with Santa.Enjoy breakfast or lunch with Santa on Nov. 29, Dec.

6, 13, and 20. Breakfast will start at 9am, and lunch willbegin at noon. Both will include a meal, craft, a hayrideto the train platform, and a train ride with Santa. Watcha unique showing of The Polar Express in an authenticrailroad car at 3:30pm and 6pm. There will be cookiesand hot chocolate and a special gift. Model Railroad Days on Nov. 8-9 will feature various gauges of model railroads including theVines Garden Railway ‘G’ scale exhibit. There will also be hands-on activities, a craft table, andrefreshments; Spiced Right BBQ will also be available.

Garden and Nature EventsCamellias in Bloom at Massee Lane Gardens Near Fort ValleyMassee Lane Gardens is the jewel box of Georgia, where the camellia blooming season

begins in September and new varieties blossom every day through late April. Camellias are oftencalled the winter rose because they bloom continuously incool months. February is considered peak season becausethe largest numbers bloom simultaneously.

Open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 to 4:30 andSundays from 1 to 4:30, the gardens will also be open onMondays in February. An International Garden ofExcellence and the headquarters of the American CamelliaSociety, Massee Lane features a collection of gardens andtwo galleries showcasing the largest collection of Boehmporcelains on public display in the United States.

The Festival of Camellias will kick off on February 7, 2015 with free admission, children’sactivities, vendors, and food. The festival will continue all month with workshops on gardening,the Boehm porcelain collection, and photographing and painting camellias. The festival willinclude a tea ceremony, a fashion show, and a competitive camellia show. Guided tours andboxed luncheons will be available for groups of ten or more.

Merritt Pecan Company in WestonMerritt Pecan Company, located on Hwy. 520 in Weston, specializes in farm-fresh pecans

and offers a large selection of items including pecans, pecan candies, brittle, divinity, jams, jellies, sauces, souvenirs, homemade pies and cakes, t-shirts, cookbooks, and gift baskets. The pecans are grownand harvested on their farms and processed at their plant.

The company, in business since 1980, is halfwaybetween Albany and Columbus. It has a Chevron Foodmartand offers convenience store items, BBQ sandwiches, hotwings, hot dogs, cheeseburger dogs, sausage biscuits,and other food items. The store also offers a picnic areawith tables for customers, an inside ATM, clean restrooms,

walking area for dogs, and bus and camper parking. Local produce items, ranging from peas topeaches, are available when in season. Football fans will find souvenir items for Georgia,Auburn, and other local teams ranging from books to back scratchers.

Merritt Pecan Company, reminiscent of a general store, is decorated with memorabilia andhas a display of John Deere toys inside and an antique tractor barn with John Deere tractorsand other antique tools. Listen… can you hear it? The rustle of the wind in the trees, birds chirping in flight, and thewaters of the Altamaha? It’s calling, and once again you will have the opportunity to be trans-ported back to a time when Southern traditions were just being forged. This award-winningGeorgia folk-like play is drawn from the writings of Colonel T. Ross Sharpe, a local attorney bornand raised on the Altamaha River, who wrote a series ofessays in the local newspaper during the 1950’s and 60’sabout the settlers of the area around the river. National Civil War Naval Museum in ColumbusA Victorian Christmas will be held December 6 & 7 at the National Civil War Naval Museum

which will be decorated in traditional Victorian holiday style with circa 1863 decorations andtrees. The event takes place during regular operating hours and is freeadmission. Annual Festival of Lights Parade in DouglasThe Annual Festival of Lights Parade will be held in Douglas on Saturday, December 6, at

6:30pm. The theme for this year’s parade will be ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. One of thelargest night-time parades in South Georgia, this eventwill feature over 100 entries and will be watched by over15,000 spectators. This annual Festival of Lights Paradewill light up Peterson Avenue at 6:30pm and make itsway from the Coffee County Courthouse to the CoffeeCareer Center.

Douglas will also host other events during theHoliday Season beginning with the Coffee Alliance forthe Arts presentation of The Littlest Angel at the MartinCentre on Nov. 23 at 4pm. Christmas on the Pond will

Christmas Tour of Homes in MadisonThe Morgan County Historical Society will present its biennial

Christmas Tour of Homes in Madison on Friday, Dec. 5, and Saturday,Dec. 6. The tour will showcase an intimate view of Madison’s past, apast filled with excellent examples of Greek Revival, Victorian, andCraftsman architecture. The Hiawassee River Rail AdventureRide the historic Hiwassee River Railroad scenic rail excursion through the unspoiled

Festival of Trees at the Harris Arts Center in CalhounA winter wonderland of beautifully decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, and centerpieces will
