Multicultural Hotpot

A big thank you to the Ladies that attended the Multicultural Hotpot on Friday

13th May. We collected $365.00 which will sponsor a local child to attend a week

long camp at Camp Kulin.

The room was beautifully set up by Steph Baldwin with the help of Bet Young.

The food was amazing – thank you to all the wonderful chefs.

We were entertained by the belly dancers from Narrogin. Well done to Angela,

Rose and Pamela for joining in – it’s not as easy as it looks.

I then taught some basic djembe drum rhythms – thanks to those that gave it a go.

If you have not already filled in an evaluation form, could you please drop into the

CRC and do so.

Once again, thanks to everyone that was involved, it was a lovely evening.

COMMUNITY GARDEN UPDATE

There are loads of picked pumpkins in a bucket down at the gar-

den should anyone wish to use them - they make delicious pump-

kin scones! There is also lots of basil in need of picking before it

gets too cold and as always lots of healthy spinach.

Our next monthly busy bee is scheduled for Saturday 28th May

2016 from 8.30am. Everyone is welcome to drop down to the community garden at any

time and pull out a few weeds, grab some veggies and take a look at the mural art work.

KK Vipers Hockey Update

29th April Merredin vs KK Vipers The men travelled to Merredin on the bus to play

under lights on Friday the 29th April. They played an

excellent game with great defence from the back line

and passing in the forward line. Merredin felt the

pressure from the Vipers, unfortunately the score

board didn’t reflect the game with the end result of 4

-1 to Merredin. Thanks to the supporters who

cheered on the Men at Merredin.

30th April KK Vipers vs Souths

C grade played a great game of Hockey with good

passing and talking running the entire game, they

were unable to get a score on the board and drew nil

all.

B Grade played very well against the Souths with a

lot of play in the attacking end. There was a number

of attacking short corners but the score at half time

was still nil all. Keeping strong the Vipers kept out

the Souths leaving it to the second half to put three

very good goals on the board! Final score 3-nil to the

Vipers.

Farewell from Dr Karen Moller

After more than 3 years of providing a GP Service in Women’s Health to Kondinin, Kulin and Hy-den districts, I will be no longer providing this service. The service was provided where a GP Prac-tice did not have access to a female GP. Dr Deborah Adeyemi has recently commenced at Kondinin Family Practice and will now provide these services to women of the district. I would like to take the opportunity of thanking the women who have shared their stories with me. I have thoroughly enjoyed working here and have gained an understanding of the difficulties rural communities face. The service would not have been possible without the assistance of Rural Health West (Rural Health Outreach Fund), The Royal Flying Doctors Service, Kondinin Shire and Kondinin Family Practice (Jupiter Health).
