CHECK-IN LOCATION

The Welcome Center is located at the main entrance ofPalmetto Dunes. As you enter the resort, the WelcomeCenter is the first building on the right hand side. The address is: 4 Queens Folly Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928.

CHECK-IN IS AT 4:00 P.M.Guests are reminded that vacation rentals are available for check-in after 4:00 pm. Please be aware thatduring the busy season, an early check in may not bepossible.

Upon arrival, you will need to provide a credit card thatwill be authorized for $100.00 incidentals. If you plan onstocking up on groceries, please make sure to bring acooler to keep your food cold until check-in.

AFTER HOURS CHECK-INIf you will be checking in after 8:00 pm your Check-inpacket will be available at the Security Office.

CHECK OUTGuest check out is 10:00 AM. Additional fees will becharged for late departure.

CAR PASSES• Car passes will be issued at guest check-in and are re-quired to enter the gates of Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort.

• Must be displayed on your dashboard.

• A surcharge will be applied to to additional passes re-quested upon arrival

INCLUDED SUPPLIES

• A complimentary “starter supply” of toilet paper, bathsoap, dishwasher detergent and liquid, paper towels, fa-cial tissue, shampoo and conditioner is provided in yourvacation rental.

• A standard supply of towels and bed linens consistingof two bath towels, one hand towel and one washclothper person (not to exceed maximum occupancy) will beready for you in your vacation rental. The bed linen sup-ply consists of the linens that are on the beds. If yourunit has a sleeper sofa, linens will be provided for thebed. Additional linens can be requested from the FrontDesk. Please call to speak with an agent for cost and pick up arrangements. The number is843–785–9100.

• All vacation rentals have a washer and dryer within theunit for your use and convenience.

• The kitchen is well equipped for most of your everyday cooking needs.

REFRIGERATORS• When stocking an empty refrigerator, please allow 24 hrs. for the appliance to cycle and stabilize to the normal temperature.

• Controls should be set on the middle settings.

• If your freezer is cool, the refrigerator is working. Over-stocking the refrigerator may cause a loss in circulation, resulting in poor performance.

POOLS• Swimming pools are offered at many complexes. Please practice safe swimming techniques as there are no lifeguards on duty.

• If you discover that the pool requires additional cleaning, please contact the front desk at843–785–9100 for assistance.

AIR CONDITIONERS• Upon arrival, please check the thermostat to ensure it isset at a comfortable temperature for your group. Allow4-5 hours for your vacation rental to cool.

• To prevent the air conditioner from freezing, please donot set the thermostats below 70°.

VALUABLESAs a reminder to protect yourself and your family pleasekeep the following in mind regarding the safety of yourvaluables:

• Please lock all doors every time you leave your vacation rental. You are responsible for the safety of your valuables.

• Thoroughly check all drawers and closets before your departure.

• Upon returning home, if you discover that you leftitems behind in your vacation rental, please contact ourhousekeeping department at 843–785–9102. We willwork with you to return your items. Unclaimed itemswill be donated to a local charity after 30 days.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR VACATION RENTAL

KEYS• All keys must be returned to the front desk on the dayof checkout.

• Lost keys result in a $30 charge per each key.

• If departing prior to 8 AM, please return keys to the Wel-come Center by placing in the key slot to the left of the front door at the Welcome Center.

• If a special key or code is required to access the pool,you will be issued this information or key when youcheck-in at the welcome center.

ISLAND CRITTERSYour vacation rental is treated for insects on a regularbasis. Along with the loveable wildlife we have on the island, you may encounter others that are not as lovable. Listed below are a few of the most common pests:

• Alligators: Never feed, taunt, or approach an alligator. They are very quick on their feet.

• Lizards: Most are harmless with the exception of the red ones.

• Spiders & Snakes: Many species both poisonous and non-poisonous.

• No See Ums: Looks like a flea —best avoided by utilizing insect repellant.

• Palmetto Bugs: Looks like a cockroach —harmless but plentiful.

THINGS TO REMEMBERListed below are a few important items to know aboutthe resort during your stay.

• Please help keep the resort beautiful by depositing all debris in litter receptacles. Place garbage bags in theservice yard or the disposal chute for collection. Pleasedo not place your garbage by the curb or any second-ary location.

• Please do not dry towels and bathing suits on railings or balconies.

• Park in designated parking spaces only. Do not park on vacant lots, on yards, or on the street.

• Do not place signs, balloons, or other lawn ornaments on the property.

• Boats and personal watercraft may not be stored atyour vacation rental. Marina space must be arrangedprior to arrival.

THINGS TO KNOW WHILE YOU ENJOY YOUR STAY

GARBAGEPlease help us maintain the beauty of the resort by following a few simple steps regarding trash removal.

• All trash must be placed in a trash bag.

• You are responsible for placing your trash in the respective service yards.

• Some villa complexes have a dumpster on-site.

• Most homes have trash pick-up twice a week, usually Monday and Wednesday. (Please be aware that theremay be trash remaining in the service yard from theprevious renter until the next pick up day.)

• If the trash dumpster is full, please contact the frontdesk at 843–785–9100 for assistance.

ACCIDENTS HAPPENWe understand that accidents happen even on vacation.We are here to help you if something should happen.Below is information regarding the damage waiver fee.Please let us know if we can provide any more informa-tion for you either prior to or during your stay.

• When you rent through Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort, you automatically purchase accidental damage protection that covers up to $1,000 in damages. (Damage Waiver Fee.) Damage is covered only if you re-port it prior to leaving.

• Please inform Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort of anycarpet spills, breakage, damage to linens, etc.

• Repairs or replacements will then be covered under theprogram, which helps us keep our vacation rentals inpristine condition for your future stays.

• Call the Front Desk at 843-785-9100 to report any accident as soon as they occur.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE LEAVING

BE AWARE OF SATURDAY TRAFFICAs you prepare to arrive on Hilton Head Island, pleasekeep in mind that the traffic coming on to the island onSaturday afternoons is increased due to universal check-in times. A similar traffic exodus occurs on Saturdaymornings. Please be patient and plan for delays.

FROM THE SAVANNAH / HHI INT’L AIRPORTApproximate travel time from airport: 55 minutes• Exit the airport complex and drive north on I-95 intoSouth Carolina.

• Proceed to Exit 8/Hwy. 278 East to Hilton Head Island. See Interstate 95 directions below.

FROM INTERSTATE 95Approximate travel time from I-95: 35 minutes.• Traveling north or south on I-95, proceed to Exit 8 / Hwy. 278 East.

• Follow Hwy. 278 East to Hilton Head Island (approximately 18 miles).

• After crossing the bridge onto the island, take Hwy. 278Business. Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Resort is locatedmid-island and is best reached by Hwy. 278 Business —not the Cross Island Pkwy.

• The entrance to Palmetto Dunes is about 8 miles fromthe bridge. At the intersection in front of PalmettoDunes, use the left turn lanes into the resort. The Welcome Center is the first building on the right.

FROM HWY 278 BUSINESS• Guests should turn into Palmetto Dunes Oceanfront Re-sort from Hwy. 278 Business / William Hilton Pkwy andstop at the first building on the right; this is our Wel-come Center and Front Desk.

FROM THE HILTON HEAD AIRPORTApproximate travel time from airport: 15 minutes.• Exit the airport and turn left at stop sign onto BeachCity Road.

• At traffic light turn left onto Hwy. 278 Business / WilliamHilton Pkwy.

• Proceed approximately 3 miles. At the intersection infront of Palmetto Dunes, use the left turn lanes into theproperty. The Welcome Center is the first building onthe right.
