Glam up your home for lessNEW research from homeware-for-less retailer HomeSense re-veals that Brits typically spend£134 refreshing their homes to im-pressdinner guests. Onein five (19per cent) confess to spending morethan £250, seven per cent morethan £500 and nearly one in ten(seven per cent) have even boughta new TV before hosting a party.

The research, which polled 2,000men and women from ages 18 toover 60, highlights a new type of dinner party etiquette and foundthat nearly half of millennial men(43 per cent) would refresh theirhome to impress a love interest.

Guests that primarily make uswant to splash out on our homes

are family (26 per cent), friends(22 per cent), love interests (17 percent) and bosses (seven per cent).

Top purchases to impress in-clude flowers (33 per cent), candles(29 per cent) and cushions (21 percent).Womenwere foundto belessconcerned with impressing and 21per cent more likely to decoratedue to d ay-to-day wear-and-tear.

Offering homeware up to 60 percent less than the recommendedretail price, HomeSense sourcesquality and branded productsfrom around the globe, makingbuying those impressive finishingtouches easier on the pocket.

The HomeSense report alsofound men are twice as likely to

redecorate than women, knowingthat pictures of their abode willbeshared onsocial mediaand Mil-lennials (18 to 34s) are 30 per centmore likely to redecorate their

home after a breakup, comparedto those aged 35 plus.

Despite men being more con-scious of social media, it is stillthe women who reign supreme

and 40 per cent of men atheir partners buy the mhome items with nearlycepting help from theirand grandmothers.

Brits spend £134 on their homes to impress dinner guests.
