Thanks to our wonderful GTM customers we were able to showcase two very different cars, with the aim of having a little something for everyone.

In the picture of our booth above you can see a beautiful 2011 Porsche GT3 RS 4.0 and a very special 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4.

Imagine our delight, when only a few days after learning that the 2016 Ferrari Finali Mondiali would be held in the Americas, for the first time ever, we also were informed that one of our customers’ cars would be showcased in the very prestigious Concours area.

Who better to deliver and take care of a very special, [1 of 10] 2014 Ferrari F60 America at the Daytona International Speedway, than GTM’s very own Gregory Trigaux.

The Ferrari Finali Mondiali, is every car enthusiasts dream, typically hosted in Italy at the end of the season, Maranello broke from tradition in 2015 when they went to the Yas Marina circuit, in Abu Dhabi, and then by coming to Daytona for 2016, next year they will return to Mugello.

We don’t mind admitting that the event was nothing short of mind blowing to attend. Imagine Ferrari owners coming from all across the Americas and beyond, and bringing their vehicles

We were proud to be told on multiple occasions throughout the day that our cars were the highlight of the Euro Auto Festival for many of the car enthusiasts visiting the event.

with them. On Saturday evening most of them took to the track in an attempt to create the largest ever Ferrari parade, witnessing close to 1,000 Ferraris on track was truly spectacular.

The three Ferrari Challenge Series’; the European, Asia Pacific, and American were also on track together, for the grand finali.

Ferrari used the event to unveil the highly anticipated 488 Challenge, the car will be adopted by all three of the Ferrari Challenge Series for 2017, making the 25th year of the racing event the first season to utilize a turbo-charged car.

The XX Program was in attendance and on track to excite the fans who were fortunate enough to be at the event. The customers who invest in the program are not just purchasing the FXX, 599XX, or the FXX K, they are also afforded pit crews and track time to enjoy their investment, at events such as this held around the world.

Close to 1,000 Ferrari road cars on the track, a garage full of Ferrari XX cars, and the F1 race winning Ferraris of Michael

Schumacher, Nigel Mansell, and Fernando Alonso... It can only mean one thing... The Ferrari Finali Mondiali

.. Cover Story Continued

The Corse Clienti program also had track time, and last but most certainly not least, what do you think happens to all of those old F1 cars that do not end up in a museum? They become part of the F1 Clienti Program, not just a treat for their owners who get track time and a pit crew, but a true delight for all of the racing enthusiasts at the event who got to see and hear V8, V10 and V12 Ferrari F1 and Le Mans cars take to the Daytona banked track. While no official times were taken it was reported that at least one of these cars was well under the Daytona lap record. As if all of this is not impressive enough, the paddocks and pit garages were wide open for us to get up close and personal with both the cars and pit crews.

We had the pleasure to mix and mingle with the likes of Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, who put on a wonderful F1 demonstration (it was Seb’s first time on a banked track), as well as with former F1 racing stars such as; René Arnoux (active; 1978-1989).

To top it all off, and for a great cause, the final LaFerrari was auctioned off with all proceeds going towards the Italian earthquake victims, fetching a whopping $7MM and making it the most expensive car built in the 21st Century ever to be auctioned.

We hope to see you at Mugello in 2017!!

....well, we can dream can’t we?

Over at the bodyshop it was finally time to add some color.

This is no ordinary paint job, the finish needs to be up to Concours standard, which requires both time and experience to achieve.

When a car is being judged at a Concours event, even though the the judges know the car has been re-sprayed, they will scrutinize the finish looking for the tell tale signs that show the car has been painted post

The Daytona Project: A Ferrari in need of a restoration.. part three;

Another three months has flown by since our last installment on the progress of our 1972 Ferrari 365 GTB/4, and this is an exciting month as we are expecting everything to be back at the shop for re-assembly.

manufacture, such as overspray, runs, and other minor imperfections even in places that the average car owner would probably never look.

As with everything else at this level,

To be continued ...

they are looking for perfection, but as previously shared the vehicle should not be over restored either.

The car would also have points deducted if it is not the original color, as per the factory build sheet.

It is quite common for people to change the color to Red, when it comes to Ferarri restoration.

We needed to replate some of the smaller parts of the car, for chrome this is a multi step process where once the metal is prepared, it then goes through three stages. The parts are first plated in copper, then nickel, and finally they are chromed. We actually needed three different finishes across more than 100 individual parts, for the zinc and cadmium it is single step process.

With all of these parts now ready, and the main body back at the shop, we can start the painstak ing process of re-a s s e m b l i n g this amazing

vehicle, exactly as she was originally assembled at the factory in Marenello, back in 1972.

Fall at GTM

We offer our customers everything from a simple oil change to a full restoration or race conversion.

If it is Classic, Exotic, Race, or simply your dream sports car that you cannot trust to just anyone, then bring it our way. One thing is for sure, she will be in good company.

We kicked off Fall by getting customer vehicles ready for the Euro Auto Fest, this was a very busy few weeks for us, we even had last minute emergencies the evening before and the morning of the event.

Some of the highlights from the season included an iconic 1964 Aston Martin

DB5. We also did routine maintenance on three extra special Ferrari’s: the 1986 288 GTO, which was featured in our Summer issue, the 1967 275 GTB/4, showcased on our booth at Euro Fest, and a 1992 Ferrari F40.

In addition to this we had a steady stream of: Ferraris, Porsches, Alfa Romeos, Jaguars, and the list goes on, needing everything from new soft tops to an oil change, to an engine rebuild.

Even for GTM we had an above average amount of De Tomaso Panteras through the shop, some for just a service, as well as a cosmetic

restoration, and Guy has been working hard not just on engine rebuilds, but on building a new 351 Cleveland racing engine from the ground up. Just look at this engine glowing on the Dyno!

We are very excited to welcome Zac to our team, check out his Bio and the other team members, on our website.

Interesting facts! In our Summer issue we shared details of the historic Ferrari podium sweep at the 24 hours of Daytona, in 1967. Little did we know then, that 2 months later we would be stood on the infield of the Daytona International Speedway, looking at the only remaining original P4 from that very race, this one finished in 2nd place. It was rumored that someone offered the current owner $50MM on the day we took this picture, but that he respectfully declined the offer. Would you sell if this was yours?

Did you know that Ayrton Senna was involved in the development of the Acura NSX? He spent considerable time in Japan, driving and testing

the car to provide feedback to the engineers for refinement.

He was also the master of arguably the most challenging, and certainly the most coveted Grand Prix to win, Monaco. He won the race an astounding 6 times, some feel he was cheated out of wins in 1984, when Prost stopped the race due to weather (Senna hot on his heels), and in 1985 when he retired from the lead with engine trouble. He also crashed out of the lead in 1988.

At GTM we have 65+ combined years in automotive restoration, and the servicing and repair of classic, exotic, sports, and race cars. The original GTM was founded in 1977 in Brussels, Belgium. At that time we specialized in exotic car service, and were an official De Tomaso service center. From 1989 -1998 we were also an

official Ferrari dealership and service center. In 1998 we went back to our roots to focus purely on servicing, repair, and restoration, until 2004. In 2008 the new GTM & Son was born in the USA. We initially concentrated on European high-performance, vintage vehicles, however at the request of our customers we soon branched

into the V8 Shelby, and Cobra models. Vehicles restored by GTM have won numerous awards at Concours.

Fall was busy, busy, busy, as per usual at GTM, the main shop was bursting at the seams with exquisit examples of automobiles, we even added an additional full-time employee to our GTM team.
