Selection Criteria for Speakers from the Call for Papers
Our primary objective for the Mobile Asia Congress and Mobile World Congress, as well as all GSMA events, is to deliver the most compelling conference programme possible. Proposals are judged fairly and equally based on the following criteria:
Relevance of the subject Strength of the angle taken Originality of the content proposed Originality of the presentation format Newsworthiness of the content proposed Quality and level of the speaker Strength of the references offered Please check with speakers before submitting a panel
NB: We might not use your submission exactly as it is displayed in its original format
Every submission is treated in the strictest confidence and the programme development team is very happy to sign non-disclosure agreements to ensure the inclusion of any commercially sensitive material that would strengthen your proposal.

What Happens Next? Speaker Management Process
We have evolved our traditional speaker management process
Key relationship management– Content Managers hold a closer relationship with speakers and their teams– Moderator selection and briefing process brought forward for earlier engagement with speakers– Earlier engagement with the production team for better management of rehearsals
Online Resources– Upload speaker contact information, biographies and photos– Read and download the Speaker Information Guide– Upload presentations– Get the latest information as soon as it becomes available
Onsite speaker lounge & speaker testing room– Test and review presentations– Book rehearsals for stage familiarisation and to test demos– Space to meet with the session moderators and speakers– Networking opportunities with refreshments

How Can You Help?
Don’t engage with us just once or twice a year. Educate us all year round on:
– The importance of the sector your clients/company are active in– The USPs/leadership of your clients
The more we know, the more likely– The sector will be included in the programme– Your client/company will be seen as an authority in their sector
If your submission is successful– Ensure information channels remain open– Double check all information on the speaker has been submitted – Facilitate discussions with the moderator – Be available during the event in case any issues arise

Frequently Asked Questions
What if my presentation includes commercially sensitive material? The GSMA will sign non-disclosure agreements to ensure the inclusion of any commercially sensitive material that could strengthen a proposal.
What are the costs involved in speaking? There is no charge to speak at our events. In fact every speaker is given a pass that enables them to attend the entire program, as well as access the exclusive speaker lounge.
Does the GSMA pay for my flight and/or accommodation?Due to the unique way in which the GSMA is funded, we do not offer speakers financial support for flights and accommodation.
When will I find out if my application is accepted? We make every effort to contact our successful applicants within two months of the close of the call for papers. If a speaker becomes unavailable, then a first reserve will be invited to assume the available speaker slot.
Should you be planning on attending the event but are awaiting on the results of your proposal, we recommend you proceed with your registration for the event, and we will refund the cost of the purchased pass should you subsequently be selected to speak at the event.
Does speaking at the Mobile Asia Congress preclude me from speaking at the Mobile World Congress?
We consider each application independently for each event.
