January 2015 DG’s MESSAGE Dear Light Up Rotary Teamates, As the New year 2015 dawns, we usher into another era of more involved and more dedicated Rotary Service. Shailaja joins me in wishing each Rotarian and family of Rotary Bangalore E Club a Very Happy and Prosperous New Year. I am indeed delighted to know that your club is performing very well under the able leadership of President Ashadevi Nair. Being a club with lot of experienced and committed Rotarians , I am sure you are touching the lives of so many needy poor people under different Rotary avenues of service. Your work in the area of Literacy and Health Care are but few of the good work your club has been pursuing. One of the needs of the hour is to strengthen our Foundation. I am sure you Rotarians are motivated and geared up to contribute liberally to our Foundation this year also. Your club has the unique privilege of being the only E club in our district. Naturally the district looks forward for your guidance and directions to add few more such clubs. Membership has been the single focused drive of our International leader Gary Huang as he believed that they are our biggest asset and are our most valuable resource. In our district also there is an unprecedented drive in all clubs to add members and extend clubs. I urge Rotarians of E Club to grow in numbers in your club and extend beyond to new clubs and enjoy the fellowship of large rotary family. As we continue our journey in this Rotary year of 2014-15, Shailaja and I look forward for a year of Happiness and Glory for your Rotary where we all join hands to Light Up Rotary to make rotary a shining example of doing good in the world more than ever before. I am happy to note that attendance has improved in weekly meetings . As a club we have been picking up our memento and as we successfully complete 6 months of Rotary year 2014 -15. It has been a high and low note journey. I would like to acknowledge the support given by our senior members for Club initiatives. We are blessed to have galaxy of Past Presidents.

I will be greatly inspired and motivated to see consistently higher level of participation of members at the meetings and projects so as to enhance the team effort, effectiveness and in general achieve the goals. Towards this, I sincerely request and see and members’ whole hearted support. Let us be proud of our service and achievements in our E club. My journey in Rotary began 10 years ago and this would not have been possible without the support of my family. Anil and I request you and your family to involve in club activities and events with enthusiasm and zeal and make it an interactive Rotary Year. I would like to conclude by quoting Henry Ford ” Coming together is a beginning, keeping together is progress and working together is success”.
