”Grupul Scolar Industrial Anghel Saligny” from Braila, Romania, offers the opportunity

of educational studies in a wide area of fields and qualifications. The number of staff is

composed by 60 teachers and there are 810 students enrolled. The structure of the

training (for school year 2010-2011) includes classes in primary education (6-10 years

age), in gymnasium (10-14 years age), courses for young people in initial training and

training for adults.

The main areas of qualifications for students in initial training (15-19 years old) are:

- Electronics and automation (four years): Technician operator in computers.

- Electrotechnics: Technician in Electrotechnics- five years, and Electrician for naval

installations- three years.

- Mechanics (four years studies): Technician in Mechatronics, Technicians in CAD,

Technicians in ships building and Technician in mechanical maintenance.

The education for adults is focused to getting a new qualification: Technicians in IT

equipments and Network Administrator-studies last one year and half (only the

students that have finished the lyceum can be enrolled). And also the school organizes

courses for adults in order to complete theirs general studies.

“Grupul Scolar Industrial Anghel Saligny” from Braila, provides professional reconversion

for the companies’ employers (one year and half) at the requirements of the companies

(usually for STX RO Offshore Braila SA). Sometimes the institution organizes short

training courses (three months or six months) usually for Welding qualification -these

courses are recognized by the Office of unemployment-Braila.

For the study of TIC (Technology of information and communication) there are two

laboratories. There are also laboratories for: electronics, electrotechnics and automation,

mechatronics, ship building and chemistry.

School trying to help students through action in career counseling and guidance, and

some teachers organize courses outside the normal school class, in order to obtain

additional competencies (for example CISCO certification).

Local partnership with companies:

”Grupul Scolar Industrial Anghel Saligny” has a good cooperation with some

companies from Braila and from the nearest town Galatz.

- In Braila the main partner where many classes perform practical stages, was

S.C. Aker Shipyard Braila, now with the new name: STX RO Offshore Braila

SA (http://www.stxeurope.com/?page=714) .

- The school’s partner for the practical stages in electric field is S.C."STX

Europe-Electro”-Braila.

- RETEC Galatz (www.retec.ro) is a Duch company which offers the full range of

electrical services (from engineering to commissioning) for the electrical marine

market, as well as electrical equipment and after sales services for the complete

electrical system of a ship. The students from “Electrician for naval installations”

have practical stages at the company including direct work on the ships.

- The company S.C. Electric Navinstal from Galatz provides electrical services.

Grupul Scolar Industrial Anghel Saligny is a partner in the project of the

company with the name: “Modern practical stages in

Electrotechnics” (POSDRU/60/2.1/S/17788).

- S.C. Mistis Computers S.R.L offers services for repairing and maintenance for

computers.

School accreditations:

Since 2007 the school is accredited as Cisco Regional Academy. Academy provides the

module “IT Essential One”. Students from “Technician operator in computers” have access

to the virtual platform and exams. They study the module in the normal classes and get

CISCO certificates.

Pilot center for E-learning. Some teachers designed materials for the e-Learning national

platform. The full implementation of the system is still running.
