Growing Sunflowers

1. Prepare your pot. Choose a plant pot and fill the pot with compost. Press the compost down a lile but not too much, otherwise your seed might not be able to grow! 2. Plant your seeds. Push your sunflowers seeds into the soil. They’ll need to be be- tween 2.5-9cm deep. Water your seeds to help them grow! You will need to look aer your sunflower at home so that it grows tall and strong! Remember to water your sunflower regularly (don’t let it get too dry or too wet.) Once your sunflower has grown quite big you might want to put it in a bigger pot, or plant it in the garden. Sunflowers like a lot of sunlight, so don’t keep it anywhere that is too dark. Did you know...Some gardeners talk to their plants! Why not try reading to your sunflower? Look closely when your sunflower has finished growing it might produce lots more sunflower seeds that you could grow again next year or feed the birds that visit your garden! Why not measure your sunflower to see how tall it’s grown? You can send us photographs of your sunflower and we’ll put them on our Facebook page!
