Step 1The first step in my search for information started at the

Indiana University East online library.

Step 2The next step involved finding a database to search.

Step 3I looked at the available databases.

Step 4I chose the Academic Search Premier database.

Step 5I typed in “ginseng” into Academic Search Premier

database.

Step 6The search turned up over 2,000 results. I decided to narrow the search to “growing ginseng”. My search using “growing ginseng”

produce only 3 items.

Step 7I was not satisfied with theses results so I typed “selling

ginseng”. This search produced only 1 item.

Step 8I decided to use “ginseng business” as my search query.

This also only produced one item.

Step 9I typed “ health benefits of ginseng”. This produced 6 items, but one of the articles entitled “Gold in the Woods” looked like the information I

needed for my report.

Step 10This article had information about planting ginseng.

Step 11This article contains useful information in planting ginseng.

Summary

I used the Academic Search Premier database to search for information about growing ginseng. I used “ginseng”, “growing ginseng”, selling ginseng”, “ginseng business” and “health benefits of ginseng” as my search queries. It wasn't until my last search that I was able to find an article that contained the information I needed for my report. I think this database is a good database since I have used it many times before, but my subject is kind of vague for this database.
