From Father Mark Mertes, Pastor:

Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.

(Psalm 104.1)

We are now in Phase II of the governor’s Ad Astra Reopening Plan for our state. Gratefully we are able to have as many peo-ple at church liturgies that can appropriately social distance. The staff has devised an in-genious way to keep our social distance while at the same time being able to participate in the liturgy. We do ask that families and indi-viduals continue to register for mass. In Eng-lish you can go to the parish website and click on “Sign up for Mass.” In Spanish, please send an email to Jessie Carpio at [email protected] to register. We are keeping track of who is attending which masses so that we can help the Health De-partment do contact tracing in the event that someone is found to have the virus. And we are all asked to wear masks. Following the guidance of the archdiocese and with an abundance of caution we are continuing to have our parish office and par-ish center closed to the public. Parish groups will need to postpone meeting until further no-tice. Thanks for your cooperation as we all strive to create the safest environment for all. Our parish staff continues to work so feel free to call or send an email and let us know what you need. This weekend we welcome Deacon Keith Chadwick who has recently been ordained a transitional deacon for the archdiocese. Dea-con Keith will be with us for June and July.

Welcome Deacon

Keith Chadwick!

Normally the beginning of summer means we take a break from parish programming. Well, this year is anything but normal! Your parish staff is in the process of planning liturgies so that we can complete the sacraments for which so many have made preparations. We will keep you posted. Since it is summertime, I recommend camping, fishing, sitting on the porch, reading a good book in the shade, trying out a daily mass, taking a summer nap, catch up on last summer’s project that you didn’t finish, have some fun, enjoy some ice cream. Come Holy Spirit!

You are invited to Father Mark’s Bible Study!

Thursdays, Facebook Live, 7 pm Fridays Facebook Live (Spanish), 7 pm

Father Mark invites you to join him on Facebook Live for a study on the upcoming readings every Thursday evening at 7 pm. He will offer insights on the Scripture for the coming Sunday. You’re

welcome to ask him questions in the comments! If you can’t join the live broadcast, be sure to watch the video to help you prepare for Sunday Mass!

Nominations for

Pastoral Council Welcome! Father Mark plans to resume Pastoral Council in the future and invites nominations for new mem-bers. Names will be compiled and given to Father Mark. He will choose a varie-ty of persons to contact for an election for poten-tial membership on the Council for a 3 year term.
