Tech Talk • Be sure to have your client or company IT administrators enable
access to DailyEndorphin, placing it on a list of trusted sites (called a “white list”) that is deployed to firewalls and company computers/browsers. If you don’t do this you may find that access to the site or and other features are blocked by your company browser seongs or firewall seongs.
• For opJmal site performance, it will be best for all users to be running the most up to date Internet browser of their choice. This can be done online in just a few minutes and is free.

DE “Speak” -‐ Glossary of Terms
Group: your over-‐riding collecJve enJty that can stay open & acJve for as long as you have an acJve DE group membership. Is omen your company or organizaJon name.
Challenge: a finite period of Jme (has a start & end date) whereby you or someone else within your “group” starts a compeJJon using DE.
Team: a smaller enJty consisJng of other DE group members within a teams-‐based challenge and competes against other teams in the challenge. It could be you and your immediate colleagues, friends, and family.
Conference: a bigger enJty consisJng of “teams” within a DE group & challenge. Is omen used to break down large challenges into smaller enJJes to facilitate the ability to offer incenJves at mulJple levels and keep everyone engaged throughout the challenge.
Division: an enJty within a conference consisJng of “teams” within a DE group & challenge. Is omen used as another way to break down VERY large groups and facilitate mulJple incenJves at different levels.
Star Endorpher: the term for individual group & challenge parJcipants. Is another way for groups to incenJvize/reward at the individual level as well as group/challenge/conference/division/team levels. DE buckets exercises into 7 easy categories: top overall, cardio indoor, cardio outdoor, sports, strength training, walking & other. Star Endorphers are also tracked at the team level as well.
* Endorphin Points: DailyEndorphin uses a proprietary formula to calculate exercise based on each exercise, its intensity, and the duraJon. It does not account for bodyweight, so parJcipants of differing weights can earn the same number of points for each exercise done at the same intensity and duraJon. NutriJon and wellness parameters offer 4 points per day per item for the Hybrid Challenge.

FAQ How much &me do I need to market my challenge? Give yourself at least two to three weeks for PR and promoJon to ensure high engagement rates. The more the merrier…and healthier. For future challenges you may not require as much Jme. How much &me do I need between invi&ng members to sign up and the challenge start date? For your first challenge, we recommend two to three weeks to invite and sign up members. We also recommend appoinJng team captains/wellness champions to aid in recruitment. What should I put in my challenge invita&on email? See our example below. Cram your email based on the culture of your group. Give a very brief descripJon of your challenge and list any incenJves to moJvate people to join right away. Be sure to include the link specific to your challenge and let people know they may ONLY sign up using the link (not visiJng www.dailyendorphin.com). Why can some par&cipants not see themselves in the challenge? Those members likely went straight to www.dailyendorphin.com to sign up instead of using your specific invitaJon URL/link. Make certain your group understands they MUST use the link you send them to enter the correct challenge. Why is someone listed in the group but not listed on a team or as a part of the challenge? When the parJcipant signed up for the group they did not create a team or join a team. Their name will appear on the "bench" in the group admin area. Get them off the bench and into the game by dragging and dropping them onto a team from your admin page, or have them go back and re-‐register for the challenge with their current DE account by using your invitaJon link and join a team in the process.

FAQ
How do I know which DailyEndorphin challenge is best for my group? It depends on your culture and the desired outcomes for your group. You may uJlize your own Health Risk QuesJonnaire, a biometric exam, or a simple internal evaluaJon to determine your needs. With our highly configurable program, we give you the tools you need to opJmize your wellness challenge. . You may want to set up mulJple challenges that offer different things to different people and let them decide which ones they’d like to join! How and when should I u&lize the “Conferences & Divisions” feature in my challenge? This feature is ideal for larger groups. It creates a higher level of engagement by building compeJJon at both a macro and micro level. Use it to ensure your less-‐than-‐strong performers remain engaged. You may separate teams by locaJon, department, average mile Jme, or any other disJncJon. Should I select a team or individual (“melee”) challenge? Determine what will moJvate your group more. You want the maximum level of parJcipaJon and moJvaJon. We only recommend not leong individuals compete against teams, since the individual will have an unfair advantage How big should I make the teams? Do they need to be even? We have seen the most success with teams from four to eight members. Although it’s not necessary to mandate the same number of teammates, you will want to keep the numbers close to achieve comparable results. How should I use team captains in the challenge? With DailyEndorphin, team captains can simply edit team names or help administer the whole challenge. To give team captains, or anyone else in your group, admin rights go to your admin page and click on "view/edit group members". Select "make admin" next to the name of the person you want to promote. What kinds of incen&ves should I offer? Lots of cash, a day off, a trip to Disneyland? Actually, studies show the effecJveness of a variety of incenJves. Offering rewards for both parJcipaJon and measurable results helps boost engagement, as does beginning with a reward and leong parJcipants secure it or sacrifice it through their engagement. Offering rewards for different types of parJcipaJon and results helps even more. These extrinsic moJvators can aid the adopJon of more intrinsic moJvators, like becoming a more posiJve person, a bezer parent, or a more energeJc worker. UlJmately these intrinsic moJvators will enable long-‐term behavior change. Teammates can grow in their ability to moJvate each other by knowing how to seek out and idenJfy these intrinsic moJvators.

If you fill all of your iniJal user seats, you may conJnually purchase and pay for as many as you need. FAQ How does the challenge repor&ng work? How o^en are they generated and sent out? Reports are automaJcally generated weekly and sent to all challenge members at roughly 2 p.m. EST each week. The weekly report lists the running live cumulaJve overall results at that Jme when the report is run. It also lists the weekly team standings for the prior week. For example, if a challenge began on Monday, the weekly report will generate each Monday for the duraJon of the challenge. A final challenge report will appear on all members’ dashboards at roughly 2 p.m. EST the day AFTER the challenge ends. This allows a small window for members to enter any final data. DailyEndorphin hides the team standings during the final four days of every challenge to increase anJcipaJon and fuel a compeJJve spirit (and also to discourage any manipulaJon). Why are we not receiving the weekly challenge report? The weekly reports may be geong caught in your company’s (or email service’s) email spam filter and/or sending it to your junk email. To solve this issue, contact your company IT department to ensure that all group emails coming from demail@dailyendorphin and others @dailyendorphin.com are “white listed”, which should allow them through to all group members. If your group members are using other non-‐company email services, please ensure that you inform them to check their junk email if they are not receiving the reports and have them change their seong to allow them through.
