Application

Application consists of actual web pages and source code. There are 3 type of web languages and those are as follows:

HTMLASPPHP

Database

Database used to stored data enter by user or stored data that can be view my user. Basically database is a data storage. Some of the well known database are as follows:

SQLOracleAS400MS Access

Main Menu

Server

Server is a location or device where all web application and database hosts. Server communicate with network and allow other to connect to the server and use web application

Main Menu

Networking Group Networking group is responsible for allowing

others to communicate with server where application is hosted.

The basic network component are as follows:HubSwitchRouterBridgeGatewayFirewallWireless APMain

Menu

Hub Hub is a small rectangular box, often made of

plastic, that receives its power from an ordinary wall outlet and it joins multiple computers (or other network devices) together to form a single network segment.

Switch A network switch is a small hardware

device that joins multiple computers together within one local area network (LAN) and it operate at layer two (Data Link Layer) of the OSI model. Unlike hubs, network switches are capable of inspecting data packets as they are received, determining the source and destination device of each packet, and forwarding them appropriately.

Router

Routers are physical devices that join multiple wired or wireless networks together and a wired or wireless router is a layer 3 gateway and it operates at the network layer of the OSI model.

Bridge

A bridge device filters data traffic at a network boundary. Bridges reduce the amount of traffic on a LAN by dividing it into two segments and it operate at the data link layer (Layer 2) of the OSI model. Next

Gateway A network gateway is an internetworking system capable

of joining together two networks that use different base protocols and it can be implemented completely in software, completely in hardware, or as a combination of both. Depending on the types of protocols they support, network gateways can operate at any level of the OSI model.

Firewall Network firewall protects a computer network

from unauthorized access and it may be hardware devices, software programs, or a combination of the two. Network firewalls guard an internal computer network (home, school, business intranet) against malicious access from the outside. Network firewalls may also be configured to limit access to the outside from internal users.

Wireless AP Wireless access points (APs ) are specially configured nodes on

wireless local area networks (WLANs) and it act as a central transmitter and receiver of WLAN radio signals. Access points used in home or small business networks are generally small, dedicated hardware devices featuring a built-in network adapter, antenna, and radio transmitter. Access points support Wi-Fi wireless communication standards.
