Why should we concerned about Global Warming?

Introduction:

What is global warming?O The global temperature increase the earth’s

surface.O theory that we as humans are increasing greenhouse

gases (the layer of gases that catches the sun’s rays and heats the earth) through industrialization causing more gases and increasing the amount of sunlight that gets caught and heats the Earth.

O increase of Earth's average surface temperature due to effect of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide emissions from burning fossil fuels or from deforestation, which trap heat that would otherwise escape from Earth.

Possible Causes:

O The increase in the amount of Carbon Dioxide released into the atmosphere especially on a coal power plant.

-It makes little sense to ignore the emissions of CO2 in the flue gas from a coal power plant while removing CO2 from ambient air where it is 300 times more dilute. The assessment estimates that removing CO2 from the flue gas of a coal power plant would be seven or more times less expensive.

Possible Causes:

O C02 and other gases are released into

the atmosphere by the burning of fossil

fuels

-While CO2 is naturally occurring, its concentration is

rapidly increasing because of the burning of Fossil

fuels - coal, oil and gas. Human activity is not only

producing more CO2 but it is also severely damaging

the ability of the earth to absorb carbon via its carbon

sinks - oceanic plankton and forests.

Possible Causes:

O Use of Chemical Fertilizers

-farmers began to use pesticides in large

doses to increase the productivity, causing

unimaginable damage to the fertility of the

soil and destroying the micro nutrients in it.

The hybrid variety of crops intended to

boost productivity could not resist pests.

O Deforestation

- happening worldwide at an alarming rate

and the rapid loss of green cover is a major

matter of concern

Possible Effects:

O Increase in temperature

-Earth has warmed steadily during the past

century with dramatic increases in the last

two decades. Earth is now warmer than it

has been in the last 1000 years. One reason

for this temperature increase is that human

activity has resulted in more greenhouse

gases that trap energy and heat in the lower

atmosphere.

Possible Effects:

O Rising sea levels

- When ice melt at the poles will be the

largest contributor to rising sea levels

Possible Effects:

O Extinction

- Government reports over recent years

have been claiming imminent extinction

threats of polar bears due to the effects of

global warming

Possible Effects:

O Droughts

- Global warming causes less rainfall due to

drought, but also other plants trying to grow

up.

Viewpoints held about global warming

O The National Research Council of the

National Academy of Sciences held two

days of discussions on the

controversial issue of crop

biotechnology as it collects

information for a spring 2016 report.

The ad-hoc committee of 18 scientists

is pledged to take “a science-based

look at genetically-engineered

crops.” Will it do that? The first two

days were not encouraging.

Conclusion:

Global Warming is the increase of the earth’s surface in our everyday life. As we live and wake up everyday, we cannot deny the fact that we need energy to live but it didn’t mean to abuse these energies. As we humans, we must protect our earth; the thing that keeps us alive, the things that is really useful to us. We don’t even know on what we are the one’s who really is the problem. Instead of taking care of our resources were abusing them. If we don’t stop these activities , we might wake up someday facing the fact that the earth is dying.
